old and new.
a.k.a a dps decrease of 9.9......
Oh goodie, I dont know the exact calculations on this new version, but it just got that much less of an upgrade over the dead parrot.

Can you imagine it?
Passing on a legendary weapon because you already have a badgeweapon that you can get for running kara 7 times.

/sigh

But the on-equip speed bonus means one more bag!

That has to count for.. something.

Yeah, Its even better as statstick for warriors/rogues because it doesnt need a bagslot for arrows.

No seriously, because of Steadyshot it'll probably still be better dps than th badgebow, but the difference really isnt that much anymore.

Wich IMO is really really sad.

Maybe we should start whining on the forums as much as the rogues would if their blades of azzinoth both got lowered by ~5dps.

The Warglaives were nerfed twice, actually; once by nerfing all melee Haste items, and again by giving it an internal cooldown.

But they are still much better than pretty much anything else right?

Wow.... just wow.

Legendary Bow Thori'dal: 85.8 DPS (effective, assuming Timeless Arrow); Speed 3.0
Epic BoJ Crossbow of Relentless Strikes: 93 DPS; Speed 2.8

+2 AP, -2 CSR and +112 Armor Pen won't make up the difference. I'm not sure that it would make up the difference with the lost 9.9 DPS, due to the .02 speed difference.

A spare bag might be worth losing some DPS, while grinding skins solo or something. :(

Edit:
Steady base damage
Legendary: 279.55
Epic: 243.00
===
36 more damage per SS

Weren't there already a bunch of debates about how the Legendary bow was only marginally better than Illidan's bow? And the Parrot is clearly better than Illidan's bow for raiding (PvP may be another story- even though it might be effected by resiliance).

I dunno. I guess if my guild got to Kil'Jaeden, I'd go for it. It would be nice to go into Northrend with an extra 18-slots for loot.

Its really sad that now that we have a legendary, we're not drooling over it like rogues/dps warriors over the Twin Blades, casters over A'tiesh and god knows who over Thunderfury....

Its just a gimmick bow, a statstick, a rogue/warrior weapon.....

Though for a SV hunter it will definately be an upgrade as they are looking for a 2.9-3.0 speed anyway, and with this and 4pc T6 SV will be able to pump out some serious damage.

There are a couple factors you guys are overlooking.

1) It's a 3.0 speed weapon. that means that if you get enough haste, it will be correspondingly higher dps as you get more haste. With a 2.8 speed weapon there is a limit to the haste you usefully use. I'm not doing the math atm, but I'd guess that At 2.8 the bow would be the same if not is higher dps then the badge crossbow, without taking steady into account. also armor pen is awesome.

2) The steady shot dps boost is huge. It more then compensates for the slight loss in terms of listed dps. When combined with the steady set damage boost, this weapon will be amazing.

from the legendary average damage is 416.

from the badge crossbow, average damage with timeless arrow is 313.

Now realize that the damage contributing to SS from the bow is also 416. However the damage contributing to SS from the crossbow is only 260.

Clearly one is far far better.

Now take into account that as a BM hunter 2.8 speed unhasted is the ideal speed for a 3:2 rotation. 2.8 will be easily attainable with the haste on gear. Consider the increased use of steady in this rotation, and This bow just got twice as good. Seriously anyone not drooling over this weapon has no idea. I'm very disappointed in you Æthien.

No, they're not.

They're a bit better than everything else, and if you have both they're the best. There are upgrades off trash in Sunwell if you only have one.

The bow is still obscenely strong because of Steady Shot. It'll be far and away better than any other options. Settle.
