Well my brother plays quite a lot of WoW and he recently got his shammy to level 70 but is going on holiday for a while and told me to like play it and try get some good gear for him. Now I have played WoW before but a warrior who is level 36 so I basically have no idea on how to play a shammy. I know that it is enhancement spec which my brother tells me is very good so just trying to learn some good rotations for like 5-mans maybe and normal solo. Thanks to anyone who helps :)

Ummmm...there really aren't any rotations.

Drop whichever totems your group leader thinks will help the best, Stormstrike whenever it is off cooldown, and earth shock whenever you get the proc for lowered mana cost and you are ok on threat.

There are a couple fights in level 70 5-mans where you will want to save your earth shock to interrupt a spell, but not too many.

Very close.

Stormstrike every time its off cooldown, and always make sure you include Flame Shock in your rotations. Flame Shock does more DPS than either of your other two Shocks even with Earth Shock getting the 20% bonus from Stormstrike. The exceptions to this rule would be if the mob is going to die before the DoT has a chance to run its full duration or you're ready to Shock again and you already have a Flame Shock DoT running.

So, similiarly to what Bigdaddyjug said, lay the totems that will best benefit the party as a whole (not your own personal DPS), keep Stormstrike on cooldown, and rotate Flame Shock/Earth Shock as needed.

Stormstrike every time it's off cooldown. Wait for the Windfury internal cooldown to come up if it won't clip your shocks (get an addon to time WF cooldown).

Shocks for grouping (especially bosses):
- Flame if no Flame DoT is up
- Flame is there are SS charges left and an elemental shammy in the raid
- Earth if Flame is up, no SS's charges are up (if elemental shammy), or if you can reapply SS for the elemental shammy immediately after.

It gets a bit more confusing with totem twisting, something I haven't bothered doing yet as I'm mostly solo'ing.
