Well I did the switch to BM, and now have a macro question

*My current shot rotation macro
-----------------------------------
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/castsequence reset=3/target !auto shot, steady shot
/castrandom arcane shot
/cast [exists,target=pettarget] kill command
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1

*The BM one in the sticky thread 3:2
--------------------------------------
#showtooltip Steady Shot
/cast !Auto shot
/cast [target=pettarget, exists] Kill command
/cast Steady shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

- I know the 3:2 says it is for BM but it seems that the first one does more dps. How would you add the arcane shot into the macro. I tried do /cast arcane shot above and below the steady shot and kill command but it errors out. any help would be appreciated.

I just like the /cast not /castsequence

Most effecient is probably to do what i do.
I use this macro:
Quote:
/castsequence reset=5 Multi-shot, Arcane shot
/cast [exists,target=pettarget, nodead] kill command

And i spam that instead of a steady inbetween autoshots whenever multishot is up.
If i have the mana regen to do that that is.
It results in about ~45-50 more dps than just the 3:2 spam macro for me.

If you're serious about pvp, you'll have to start using a whole bunch of focus macros. They increase your utility so much. However they're very simple to make, so no worries.

/castrandom [target=focus,exists,nomodifier:shift] scatter shot
/castrandom scatter shot

ok, it's a macro thread, isn't it? :>

I never used focus, but recently i managed to get my dwaven **** to kara for the first time and on Moroes I was assigned to chaintrap the MS warr... cool! trap on one side of the room, pull, trapped dude, run to the other side of the room, trap, pewpew moroes... the MS guy got out of the ice, run to me, getting a shot or two in the meantime and got into the second trap, so i run the other way and set up a third when the CD was up... unfortunately, after he broke the second ice, he went for the healers - i managed to peel him off, and he got into a third trap, but I would refer that he didn't even run for them, thus the Q:

if I:
/focus
the guy before the fight and then spam:
/castrandom [target=focus] Distracting Shot(Rank X)
/castrandom [target=pettarget,exists] Kill Command
/castsequence reset=3/target !Auto Shot, Steady Shot

macro, would it target the iced add only with the distracting shot, guaranteeing the aggro on me w/out breaking the trap??

Last time I was there I just kited him around the room because I was bored..... :P
Think I got him quite close to death before moroes died.

Aethien,

/castsequence reset=5 Multi-shot, Arcane shot
/cast [exists,target=pettarget, nodead] kill command

Do you use the macro you mention above as is or do you include in the macro that Ammerman mention below? Thanks!

/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/castsequence reset=3/target !auto shot, steady shot
/castrandom arcane shot
/cast [exists,target=pettarget] kill command
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1

Well new dilemma. I have been using the 3:2 macro

#showtooltip Steady Shot
/cast !Auto shot
/cast [target=pettarget, exists] Kill command
/cast Steady shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

But now my attack speed is 2.0 with my haste percentage increase.

It seems like this macro isn't doing what it use to because I am no longer top dps I am now 3rd or 4th on list and this has only recently happened since the haste increase. I looked at the TKA site and the lowest weapon speed macro they have is for 2.7. Is there a site out there that caters to shot rotations with faster weapons speeds or am I basically SOL?

any info on this subject is greatly appreciated I want my top DPS spot back in our 25mans.

There's quite a large difference between weaponspeed and attack speed ;)

If this Maeglin is you (popular name, there are several 70s and 2 Hunters, and that's just considering US servers. I made the assumption that you are this of the two Hunters based on gear and VE rep, but neither was an easy choice) then you're running the Valanos with a 2.8 speed. That is the speed to use when looking for an appropriate macro, not your adjusted speed of 2.01.

BTW: Did you ever get your macro for firing Distracting at your focus target to work? I think the idea is a good one, my issue with using it would be that I set my focus target to the MT or OT based on the pull, and so don't have my Focus 'free' to set to a mob. But I've got a fast focus setting macro set up so I could easily swap out for fights where I don't do any MDing, and Moroes is such a fight.

I didn't even manage to have enough time to apply for Kara run in my new guild, so the macro's not yet tested...

i got a question aswell...

im a level 40 hunter. im not familiar with macros much. but i made 1 like dis...

/cast hunter ( for hunters mark)
/pet attack

what could i add to do the autoshot, or to start shooting at the target... lookslike...

/cast !autoshot

ima try this when servers r back up. but if this wont work an u know what will. plz do tell... also isnt there a way to stop recasting hunters mark, if the target already has it applied? ty for help.

you're not going to want to add anything to that. You want your pet to get to him and start to get some threat before you start shooting. That way he'll keep attacking your pet and not come right after you.
