Well i know this should have been put in the Pally accomplishment thread, but I was so excited.

Our guild finally downed Curator, we have been trying for about 4 weeks on him, finally got the right group together for the dps.

Of course i was tanking. No upgrades for me on this fight but hopefully in the future i will have a piece of T-4 Gear.

Many thanks for all the help this forum has givin me in my WOW adventures. :)

Thanks, it has been a slow uphill battle, hell I remember first time we went into kara, Attunman. We were all like wow this sucks really bad. But we have stuck with it.

We use no outside help only guildies. We do lots of heroics and down the first 4 bosses each week to get better gear and badges. But im guessing this is the way most guilds do it. So we had to start somewere, I'm hoping we venture into ZA in the next month or so for first maybe 2nd boss.

Grats on progression. It's a great feeling downing a boss for the first time.

Good luck on Shade now!

Congratulations!

Definitely a great feeling. It's funny how progression can go -- you feel like you're making no progress and -- boom! -- you breeze through previously impossible fights. The group I'm with struggled horribly with Moroes; it might take us 5/6 attempts to get past hi, if we got past him at all, and then we were hit-and-miss on the Maiden. We've now one-shotted Moroes three weeks in a row (and he still won't drop the Boots of Valiance, the bastage) and have gotten past Curator twice in a row, two attempts each. It's nice to see a group come together.

I love the feeling of getting passed a new boss. The fight slowly comes together more and more but you reach a point where you cant QUITE do it... Then it's like one person in your raid notices "hey.. if I move 2 steps to the left during this phase it makes it easy mode!" and you cruise through it without even coming close to wiping :D

I remember having a hell of a time on Moroes ages and ages ago as well. When I was gearing up my first TBC tank in Kara we got to the point where the first night would be spent almost entirely on Moroes, then we'd down Maiden and Opera really quick and finish up on the second night. It was a strange experience downing all the 2nd half bosses (read: REAL bosses) but having so much trouble on Moroes.

The third boss in Heroic MrT gives me a similar experience. The fight is WAY different than Moroes.. with no aggro table and all. The feel is the same though. You either have a group that is solid and everyone takes care of their mob to cruise through it easy -- or you have a wipefest that never ends...

Curator is a hillarious fight with new people though. You can scream to kill the flares all you want but for some reason they keep DPSing him.. ESPECIALLY on the last flare. Nothing annoys me more on that fight than seeing all but one person switch to Curator when he starts evocation BEFORE the 10th flare is down.

I look at that fight as a guage for how well the DPS is working together. If 2 flares are up.. they need work. If it takes ALL of their time (10s) to get one down.. they'll have trouble on Illhoof and Shade. If it takes 3-4 seconds to get a flare down, you're set!

Gratz :) I agree, it's always exciting to down a new boss. Hell, I went into Naxx last week for my first time, and the guild I'm in never killed 4 Horsemen pre-BC. When they went down, with all like 5 of us alive, cheers erupted over Vent! This is Tier 3 people! Level 60 stuff. But nonetheless, it was exciting :D

I'd be willing to bet that this is the same kind of feeling that you and your raid had on your Curator kill :)

And to anyone whose thinking, "Oh, it's just Karazhan ...," remember the first time you went in? I'm sure you 1-shot every boss through to Hyjal right?

Again, gratz on the accomplishment :D!!!!!

Ooooohhh... I'd love to do Naxx before it moves. How many were you? I've been trying to find some info about how many would be needed at what gear lvl (T4, T5 etc), but I've yet to come up with answers :(

And a big hand to the OP for downing a new boss :) Even downing an old boss when you're doing something different is great (aka used to heal, now tank him). Good luck on further progression!

People think the same about a lot of the old raids as well (Naxx? how hard can it be?), and even in ZG I get a lot of surprized people when they do tiger boss for the first time. Even those clearing kara. And they get surprized about the big (really big) pulls leading up to boss. I'm running out of raid symbols on that one. Good thing I'm a tankadin ;)

Cheers :)

Don't mean to take away the thread here, but I can't let a direct question go unanswered :)

We had a full 40, most were in Tier 5 or Tier 6 gear with a few exceptions. We had to pool people from a few different guilds plus call in friends to get a full raid, but it was well worth it. Most bosses were very easy but there are some that even a full 40 in Tier 6 can struggle on if people don't pay attention: 4 Horsemen and Thaddius both took about 4 tries to kill. Went on longer then anticipated so we only got 1 attempt in on Sapphiron and wiped. Oh well.

So, back on topic: GRATZ AGAIN! :D

Just an update to this post.

Well we got back to Curator again and ONE-SHOT him, so sweet no deaths. Downed him on the 2nd Evocation (well he was at 8%). No upgrade for me this time either, oh well.

We went on to the Chess event, lol never been there that took forever but finally did it. Tonight we are going to try Shade, gotta read about this encounter.

Now im the guilds MT, im at 491 defense, 104.1 avoidance and 13.5 health :)

My main raiding character is my warlock. This weekend, we were doing netherspite for the first time and needed an off-tank. No one was around. I piped up and said I have a prot pally that's 70... could we use him?

Well, his gear is green + some blue, but was able to tank netherspite in the red beam. Then do the green beam afterwards. We took him down! W00t! I've brought my pally to kara twice and he has 2 epics out of it. I got this belt from netherspite and these legs from chess.
