Hey all;

I'm trying to help the kids play WoW, and I apologise in advance for asking this, but I have searched 'everywhere': HOW do I get a pet out of the stable?

When you open up the stable there are two slots of stabled pets, and one that is your current pet. All you need to do is click and drag the pet image from one side to the other.

1) Find a stable master (usually near an inn)
2) Talk to them and open stable window
3) Drag & drop pet portraits

Yeah, I spent about half an hour trying that, no luck.

Edit for clarity: I stand at the stable master, and try to drag and drop the pets back and forth, nothing happens. I abandoned the one pet that my kid was fighting with, and tried to drag one of the stabled pet to the now empty slot, no luck either. Grrr...

If you are unable to swap your pet in and out of the stable, then I would open a ticket with a GM, as it normally is that simple. Try deleting (save first) your wtf folder, and restarting wow and such, as they will ask if you've done this.

I relogged - twice - and I am still unable to move any of the two stabled pets into the 'current pet' window.

One of the two stabled pets has a red border on its icon, is that significant?

Wtf (sic) is the wtf folder?

How do I open a GM ticket?

Again: I apologise for asking these n00b questions, but the kids really love their pets, and they are very worried that they'll 'never' get to fight with them again.

Check if you still have a pet. A dead pet is not gone. You have to rez him. He has to be alive before you can swap pets or abandon the dead pet.

The WTF folder is a folder within your WOW directory, normally "c:\program files\world of warcraft\wft"

not sure about the red border.

to open a GM ticket there is an icon on your taskbar, I think it's the "?" icon.

Well lets see ?

For a start it can take a few seconds for your pet to appear , Lag or whatever you wish to call it in towns can delay for quite a few seconds any appearance of your pet ,

Did you abandon or dismiss the original Pet ?

along the bottom of your screen is an icon with a red ? to open a ticket that is where you go but can be fun working it out ..

As you said one shows red that could be the pet was dead ? and as has been said needs reviving ..

As has been already said it should be a simple drag and drop to change pets , Try it again wait 15 seconds if original pet vanishes hopefully then try calling or reviving your pet , you will get some on screen message if there is no pet ect. ??

Sounds silly....

But did you actually BUY the stable slot? The first slot is 1 g and the second s 5g? Its been a long time since I bought my slots.

I am hoping when Lich somes out we can get more stable slots so we can have more pets ;)

Hope that helps

Hello again, and thank you all for taking the time to try and help us.

Your directions helped me figure out how to petition to the GMs, I'm waiting now for online support ;-)

Edit: GM Kha...somethign fixed it; Key learning: Do NOT put more pets in your stable than you have slots, or bad things will happen.
