Well I hit 70... finally!

I've already equipped the Frozen Shadoweave Shoulders, and intend to make the robe and boots to go with it ASAP. I don't intend to do much PVP, but I will be starting initial Kara with the guild very soon.
Can anyone recommend head/pants/gloves to go with it? I believe the battlecast set is mainly PVP.

Spellstrike. Spellstrike. And perhaps badge gloves or even Gloves of the High Magus.

To save starting a new thread, my GF has also just hit 70 (Fire/arcane Mage). She will be picking up the Spellstrike set (no tailoring). Can you recommend BOE (or BOP from a quest) gear to go with it?

Spaulders of the Torn-Heart. Robe of the Crimson Order. Same gloves I recommended you. Shattrath Jumpers(iirc). Belt of Blasting. Crystalweave bracers.
Start upgrading through badge gear upon entering Kara. I'd suggest robe first(or ring first then robe), as the one in Kara is a pain to get(I've seen it drop once).
I know it is a warlock item, I am a warlock, but if you can I might suggest http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=27537;source=live. They give a nice bit of hit and spell damage. This is of course assuming your not hit capped. If you are then I would probably go with Poldarans suggestion.

Those are indeed nice, but he did say from quests or BoE...though thinking about it, I think one of the things I linked is from an instance quest.

battlecast is mainly for pvp, although it still isn't that good for it. I would just hop in and start doing AV/etc to get the honor for S1 pants. Or just save it until S2 becomes honor-purchasable (should be right after S4 comes out, which I am guessing is going to be fairly soon).

As to the second question there are a few choices depending on how much you want to spend. I would definately pick up the belt of blasting as that is one of the best belts before sunwell. For the cloak the badge rewards are nice but barring that there is Ogre Slayer's Cover. For some of the rest it really depends on how much you want to spend and how far your server is in progression.
