60 to 70 In InstancesFollow

I currently have a level 54 Prot Pally and was thinking if it would be viable to level him from 60 to 70 as Holy using only instances in Outland? My reasoning behind this comes from how much I have enjoyed healing five mans in the past, the rep gains I'd recieve, and the gear. My only problem I can think of is the time factor... Does anyone know if this method's leveling time would be close to grinding and questing?

I thought I would do the same thing on my resto Druid.... I was wrong. You almost NEED to quest in Outland. Too much good useful stuff drops from quests to totaly ignore them. As a healer you can be an instance heavy leveler, but to cut out questing altogether is unwise.

Not to mention the amount of XP needed to gain a level post 60 and how short Outland instances are. You'd be doing a LOT of instances. I'm sure it coudl be done, but like the poster above me said, there's a lot of stuff you're missing out on by not questing as well.

Stay in LFG all the time. While waiting, do quests. You get the best of both worlds.

You may not break any records on leveling speed, but who cares? At least you'll be having fun.

Plus, rep gains are awesome. Get as much as you can now. Then, when you hit lvl 70, you can finish up the quests in the zone and get insane money and rep.

To elaborate further, you'll want to do the first few quests in Hellfire Peninsula to get some basic Outland-quality gear. Once you have those early quest rewards in hand, you want to run Ramparts and Blood Furnace a few times each, before returning to HFP questing.

As a holy pally myself, I totally lucked out for one great evening in my early 60s. A few of us formed a 5-man party for the Overlord group quest, and the PUG worked so well together that we decided to stick together and blow through the remainder of our quests in Hellfire (Rock Flayer Matriarch, Colossal Menace, etc.) as a group over the next couple of hours. We simply crushed the zone. The quests that weren't designated as group quests went mindblowing easily AND we got the benefit of the group-XP bonus (which seemed like a huge increase over the solo XP rate). We just kept dinging, faster than I ever remember leveling at any other point in the game.

Someone I know is levelling a Mage alt, mostly through instances. It was funny watching him go from ~30 to 60 in basically a week. Since then, everytime I bring up my friends lis he's there in Hellfire Ramparts, but he hasn't levelled once in two days. This is with easily 6-10 hours of play a day.
