Ok, not long ago I saw a hunter with King Bangalash. No biggy I know but what surprised me was that the pet was named "King Bangalash" and it had the Gold Elite Dragon around it's portrait...How? I myself went to KB right after seeing this to tame it, and after 3 attempts I keep getting a level 43 "Cat" non-elite. Can someone fill in the blanks here? what am I doing wrong?
This is most likely what it was that you saw. I too saw a dwarf running around with a monsterous raptor in Shat one evening and was like... wth!

I've seen people with Humar who have named the pet 'Humar'.
But even though it was named Humar, it had lost it's rare spawn dragon portrait.
I would have said that what you saw was the same thing, except that I'm pretty sure you can't put spaces in the name.
I'm tempted to post the usual cliched: "SS or it didn't happen" :-)

No, it's a bug. I see it all the time. It's been happening for ages. I'm guessing that it's just one of those things that doesn't exactly cause any issues, so Blizzard doesn't find the need to put it at the top of their bug-fix priority list.
I have had it happen on my hunter a few times , Just a bug sadly as all Elite Pets become Exactly the same as normal versions of their pet families anyway , and after logging out it sorts itself out.
It would be nice to get an elite pet that stayed elite though .

Wow, I am glad you all have seen this before because I was totally stumped. I figured it would have been some kind of glitch but wasn't sure.
