Have looked through the FAQ and Gryph's awesome druid resources links. Now I'm hoping for some personal opinions/guidance from those of you with experience, because I don't want to be the *** everyone hates.
I'll never raid, and my druid is 70, so apart from the occasional trip out to farm I don't do much with her. I thought it might be fun to do some BG's for honor and maybe collect some gear. The problem: I suck at PVP. I mean, I suck like you read about. And I don't enjoy melee PVP combat - this will sound crazy to anyone who hasn't experienced it, but all that up close twitching and moving and constant screen flickering is actually a migraine trigger for me (the reason I had to give up console games lo these many years ago, if you can believe it).
But, I do very much enjoy healing, and nobody hates a healer in a battleground, right? So I thought that might be a good thing for me to try. So my questions:
1. Should I try the same build the sticky suggests for Arena healers, or is there something more suitable for BG's you recommend?
2. Will a set of greens/blues from the AH be okay to start with? I haven't got any decent healing gear right now.
3. Bearing in mind I have next to no BG experience at all, should I really bother with this at 70? Or is the learning curve going to be too steep?
4. Stand in the back, HOT everyone, cast bigger heals on whoever needs it, cut and run when you get attacked. Is that the basic strategy? Or should I just pop bear when I get hit and hope I can last long enough for someone to come to my defense? I'm assuming I won't be able to actually fight, say, a geared up rogue with a Resto spec. (ETA: No offense intended to the dozens of good Resto druids who do just that every day. I only meant "I" as in "me" - remember how I said I suck at PVP. :) )
5. Is there even a worthwhile amount of honor to be gained from healing (versus actually getting kills)? I don't mind doing some for the healing practice anyway, but I don't want to spend a lot of time if there will be virtually no rewards.
Thanks for your advice!
