GnomesFollow

Hey just out of curiosity... how many of you out there have a gnome rogue? Also, did i mess up by rolling one. When i did i was thinking the racial ability would be nice for PvP. I am talking about Escape artist. However, when i was looking at the other classes i saw that most people go with humans or NE's. Just looking for some feedback from players that have gnome rogues. Not to mention we look kinda silly in gear that looks bad *** on the larger toons. I am only level 16 atm so i could go back and redo him... just trying to figure out if it is that big a deal though. Thanks in advance for your input.

Human is widely considered the best race for both PvE, and PvP on Alliance.

I personally think that Perception is probably the most powerful racial in the game at the moment, an Diplomacy is amazing as well.

Gnomes are fine, though. I'd much rather be a Gnome for the looks than be a Human for their racials.

Speaking as an Undead Rogue who faces alliance rogues all the time; without doubt gnome rogues are my pet hate.

Humans can spot you earlier but +stealth talents, potions and gear can help reduce that advantage.

You can often be standing on a night elves toes before you spot them but cats eye potions and the like can help with that.

Gnomes on the other hand are a swine to keep track of in combat. Their shortness means it's sometimes difficult to spot them and they can nip in and out of melee scrums often with impunity.

A gnome rogue on his own is no big deal and about equal with everyone else, but a gnome rogue in a group of taller pc's is a vicious and deadly little ball of nightmare.

If I was playing an alliance rogue instead of horde I'd be playing a gnome. It's just a pity that goblins aren't a player race.

I'd agree...gnomes are a nightmare in BGs, not to mention that escape artist combined with cloak of shadows means it's nearly impossible to tie you down.

And gnomes look pretty cool in rogue sets (personal opinion).

Plus I'm still waiting for Blizzard to add a stun to the gnome racial ******* and call it "shin kick" or something...like the Tauren war-stomp only, uh, smaller.

Personally I'm quite happy as a human. The Rep thing helps out a ton for PvE, I don't PvP much so can't say too much on that side of things.

Speaking as a nasty little gnome myself, I think the escape artist is worth it. I use it in nearly every battle. feet frozen to the ground? escape it. feet entagled thorns? escape it. rogue peel you off his healer? escape it. etc etc.

The size thing is nice as well in large groups (AV). I've hidden myself under/in an enemy tauren in the past as I attack another horde...priceless.

Human abilities are nothing to scoff at either, I just haven't taken one high enough to get the full benefit yet.

In the end, it is of course what you prefer. (I have a bunch of gnomes, so I am a 'little' biased toward them).

Another gnome here and I love it. The size thing is one of my favorite things about being a gnome. I can always see what it going on with everyone else on my screen since my own toon doesn't get in the way.

my gnome rogue will likely always be my favorite character. I kinda grew tired of playing a combat rogue, i only need about 9k honor and 40 EotS marks then i could go back to mutilate which might actually rekindle some interest.

I think its a very cool character.
