What do you think about a elemental/resto hybrid build for massive mp5 and grinding?

now this depends on what you want to do with it but if you just want to grind then going 40/21 ele/resto would be better.

With a decent amount of spell crit you will never have a mana problem when grinding. If you're trying to get a pretty decent damage/healer combo then it is a pretty decent build except you should take the 5 percent crit chance to healing and lightning spells. That will help you with mana conservation a lot.

No, I mainly heal but resto kills so slow and the mp5 would be nice, plus the damage from the resto talents should have me killing a bit faster.

think you may be better with somethin like this:
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/shaman/talents.html?tal=5500010500000000000000000000000000000000055000351055310510321

you still get all the best resto talents but you can kind of pew pew like an ele shaman with 11% crit still. should be able to get off 2 lightning bolts before enemy gets to you then Flame Shock melee and earth shock, possibly searing totem aswell, but it depends on how close to dead the enemy is once in melee range.

It's not horrible, I guess, but certainly not what I could call a good build.

When soloing, you shouldn't need Unrelenting Storm anyways. Any couple of hits you take is going to trigger Water Shield which is already massive regen, and beyond that, the quickest way to make up mana after casting spells is just to drink. Unrelenting Storm is really much more of an instance/raiding talent where you need your mana pool to sustain you through a single lengthy fight. It's not going to make much difference in your quick-fight-to-quick-fight grinding speed.

Beyond that, this build really leaves you with no role in instances. You want Earth Shield for a healing role since our heals are so slow and costly, not to mention various other talents you're skimping on, and your damage is going to be complete crap without a fully fleshed-out Elemental tree so DPS is out of the question as well. Not to mention itemization...

I would strongly recommend you either go full Resto or full Elemental.

The points in Unrelenting Storms, Elemental Warding, and Nature's Grace are mostly wasted imo, and Healing Grace and Convection could be better put to use. I'd think something like this would be much better, you get double crit damage, more damage from Lbolt, 10% more crit, and all you lose it a tiny amount of regen, reduced damage that you'll never be taking in the first place, and Nature's Guardian that should never be proccing anywho. I'd probably take the points out of Healing Grace and drop them into Lightning Mastery as well, or more likely, into Healing Way.

That said, I'd be reluctant to take anyone sepcced that way into anything beyond a few of the easier heroics, unless they had really, really good gear. Even then, serious (timed) ZA and any 25-mans would be out of the question unless the rest of the raid was already incredibly geared.

he is talking about making his soloing grinding stronger since he is leveling to 70, we are not talking about ZA or 25mans here, not even talking about heroics really either.

Yes this was meant to be for being able to deal some damage while doing Gruul's and Mag which I do once a week as a raid heal

"Jmfmb slaps his own face"

ok just go with a real resto build if your already 70 and on gruuls, at the very lest do not sacrifice earthen shield so you can dps on your off time, thats all the advice i have for you now.

Yeah, I thought you were talking about leveling/grinding as well... If you're already raiding then a Restomental build is complete garbage. Raids don't want or need hybrids. Choose a role and specialize in it.

Grinding and gruul's are completely different. If you raid at all, and even for kara, then you will need a dedicated build. Resto really doesn't do that bad at killing things if you have a good ele set (kara and heriocs is even good enough) and with earth shield you feel invincible.

ya most resto shamans have about 500 spell dmgor more when soloing which is quit a bit to do fine.

Just don't make the mistake of trying to use a 2h with WF, it doesn't work out that well. But Flame tongue and flame shock with searring totem should be plenty quick to burn through enemies.

Ya its still slower then being a dps spec, but I have heard the other healers have it way worse then us.
