...Thought you people might too.
I am by no means a master at WoW, or even good for that matter, but I come here to learn and bounce ideas off everyone. With that said here is the tale.
When I was early lvl 30's I was questing in Wetlands/ Dun Modr when I get a group invite from another hunter (mid 30's) telling me he "will help me level". I haven't at this point grouped much, so I accept invite. He runs me around Arathi for a while just grinding mid 30 mobs. All goes fine, but I wasn't getting much exp. I had to leave after an hour or so. For the next week or so everytime I come on he invites me to group, I decline as I would rather solo to get more exp. I did put him on friend list and see that I am gaining on him in levels over the next few weeks and eventually pass him, hitting 39 while he is still at 37. I proceed to take a break from my main as I start an alt to herb/ mine to get gold for a mount at 40.
Now I am a fresh 40 with a mount and am questing out of Booty Bay in STV and he comes running by me and is level 40 too. He group invites me again and I accept, just for the hell of it. He proceeds to take me to kill the lvl 43+ naga around the area. As I am watching his style and the combat I notice that I seem to be doing more damage and my cat is out aggroing his bear with ease. I inspect him, out of curiosity and this is what I see.. http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Zangarmarsh&n=Vaughan
I think "huh, that's odd for a hunter." I'm still in leather but all +agi/ stam. Oh well, I guess he really wanted mail, we press on. I notice that he sets the loot to: free for all and as the mobs are close to death he runs toward them and grabs the loot as soon as I finish them off, no biggie as nothing of it is worth while. I catch on to his game and proceed to do the same thing. I end up getting some "of the owl" bracers, immediately after he says "see ya" and breaks group. I think he got pissed at me ninjaing the loot.
I'm not the kind of person to poke fun at others' ignorance, but thought I'd share this. One thing I can say is that I'm glad I found Allakhazam.
