My guild's starting SSC/TK and my guild lead asked me if I think I'm geared. However, I don't know if I am or not...

Could you guys tell me?

Well, there is a fair amount of badge gear you can get, but it isn't necessary for ssc/tk.

I would reccomend getting the badge crossbow and the arena axe.

You're at the very low end of SSC/TK ready. I know I was a lot higher heading into ssc/tk. I suggest arena's and bg's to help as well.

In my opinion, you're fine to start SSC/TK. You may not be leading the damage meters, but who cares...you won't be a hindrance to succes by any means. A large portion of your gear is from Kara and most of your gear is epic. If SSC/TK isn't the next step after outfitting with Kara gear, then I don't know what is.

Getting Legacy, or the arena axe might be nice, but isn't essential.

Overall, I'd say you're fine.

I'll agree that you should work on getting the arena axe.

Also, look into running Magister's Terrace. You should be fine for running either normal or heroic- but both versions drop very nice chestpieces. In fact, the chest piece from Kael in normal mode (drops in heroic, as well), has a nice amount of Haste on it, making it about the equivalent- and often better for most BM hunters with Sunfury or Relentless Strikes- to the Ranger General's chestpiece from Hydross in SSC.

If you are hit capped (you're close) then Legacy is a better PvE weapon than the S3 axe. But the S3 axe is easy to get from 2-3 weeks of losing Arena matches, and Legacy takes a BBW Opera win. The win isn't hard, but getting the event can be.

Also, both ZA and H MrT can give you a few very decent upgrades from your current gear. If I were to pick any nits with your gearing, I'd say that you are a bit low on Health for SSC/TK encounters. Don't sacrifice DPS for STA, but do try to upgrade your gear with STA in mind.

Thanks for the help guys

I'm 8 badges away from my the new Badge chestpiece now.
I stick to my Blackened Spear cu it has good AP and I do need the +19 hit it has.
Got my "Shadowhunter's treads" from ZA yesterday.
and I'm working to get the HKM T4 shoulders.

Then I'll go start T5 content

Just keep in mind that skill means more than gear. Don't hold off going into T5 content because you think your gear isn't good enough. Being prepared, knowing the strats, etc., is as important or more important than getting a little more AP and/or crit.

In your current gear, you are quite capable of running T5. Sure, you can make improvements, but those improvements are not on the order of magnitude of replacing greens. One or two gear upgrades are not going to be the difference in whether or not you're T5-ready, at this point.

One thing to think about...how well geared do you think the uber leading edge guilds (like Nihilum for an extreme example) were when they tackled new content?

Given their rate of progression and the week-long reset timers on instances, it is basically impossible that all their players were geared at the best level before they moved onto the next boss or next Tier level. So, the difference was skill and knowledge of the fights and teamwork. They were able to maximize less than optimum gear by being well prepared and working as a team. But, there's no way their entire 25-man raid team was decked out with all T4 (or equivalent) before they moved on to T5, etc.

Anyway, my point is that you shouldn't let the fact that you can upgrade a couple items interfere with going into the next level of content, because can and should are not the same thing.

Good luck.

...did you read what anyone wrote?

Don't blow your badges on the Badge chest; get the bow, axe, legs or gloves instead. Run Magister's Terrace for your chest replacement.

Sure your Blackened Spear has hit, but so does the S3 axe. Get that instead. Both the badge pants and the T4 pants have hit also, so aim for those in the near future.

T4 shoulders are not a significant upgrade over Beastmaw Pauldrons. Your shoulder slot is fine for now; try to get the ZA shoulders or the S2 shoulders once they're available for honor points... or just wait until your guild kills Void Reaver and hope for a T5 token.

That's a good point. I heard that a lot of them were still in blues and working on those "last few" pieces of Kara gear when they took down Kael. They didn't even have ZA and its 3 day timer to help them gear up.

Another example: Aethien. Unless his armory just hasn't been updated in ages, he still uses the Hellforged Halberd (alliance equivalent to the Blackened spear), and the Laughing Skull battle harness from normal BM (level 68 blue). But he tops his guild's charts in TK/SSC and has mentioned that he's trying to find a guild that's starting on BT/Hyjal.

Bump with this thought:

The S3 Helm is much much better than Maulgar's Warhelm. If you put in the time to pick up the S3 helm you'll be wearing it for good long while as a new T5 raider.

Yeah, your good to go. I've seen alot less geared people in running TK ans SSC. I'd try to hit up VoidReaver first (TK)... T5 shoulders and a few other drops from that relatively easy fight. I wouldn't even worry about t4 at this point.

S3 axe is pretty beefy and is also relatively easy to get. Stam will become a factor in the t5 content so even a couple PvP pieces wont hurt. The belt for instance; might be a good upgrade.

If the rest of your guild is geared at or around your same level, you should be fine.

Ok, right now I'm working to get the Parrot Crossbow (still need some badges), Legacy from Oz and after that I'll start getting other badge gear since it's easy to get and good.

Do you think that would be enough ?? Also, do I need to regem or re-enchant something?

Thanks for your help guys

Why bother asking? You received good advice the first time you asked, posted your plan, received good advice again, and you ignored it.

I have to disagree with this. I was hitcapped and was running with Legacy before I got the s3 axe. I seen a noticeable increase in dps after getting it. Unless of course you're running as survival. I actually made the switch to sv and dusted off the old thing for a little while before I was able to get a couple 1handers from Hyjal and a few weeks ago got my hands on http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=33492;source=live from ZA, which is pretty freaking awesome.

Can you do a consistent ~800 dps?
If yes, than you're ready.
If no, you're probably not.
