Hey guys, I'm a fairly new hunter and in the last 25 lvls, I have tried many pets. finally I found the one I like. Ghost Saber, the semi-transparent frostsaber cat, currently unnamed.
So I ask, what is your favorite pet name?
I ask this coz simply, I'm trying to find a good name for my cat.
Simple ways of answering is to tell the name, then the type of pet.
eg. Critninja - Lion from the barrens
Midnight - panther from STV
etc.

My hunter's name is Gemstone, so I use gem/stone names for my pets. :)

Female lion from the barrens: Jacky =D
My first pet was a cat from the NE starting area, the one with the stripes ^^, wich was called Peritas, after the dog of Alexander the Great, still don't know why I gave a cat a dog's name tho
My second pet was a bear from winterspring, wich I named in a very non-creative mood Furyclaw.
My third and current pet is a raptor from BEM, wich I named Haruchi.

I got a paid name change to get the same name as my 3s and 5s lock's felhunter.
Misha, usually the name of my Hunter's main pet. At the moment he's searching for a great one, so he hasn't named any of them yet.
Asura, the ghost saber thing from Darkshore. Both my Hunters have it, but my Night Elf uses it as main pet since she's only 24 (pet can be tamed at level 22, I think).
Misha is just a name I picked due to the balance in it. I like 'sh' names and since my Dwarf Hunter is a guy, his pets must be female. Memitim is Hebrew for 'destroyer', I think. Asura derrives from Hinduism where they are demon of some kind. Not necessarily evil, though.
I also had an undead boar once called Cholesterol.

sweet names. I kinda thought this thread would just be ignored and left for dead, and I would never find anything to name my ghost saber.
I recently tamed a turtle just for the fact that I could tame a turtle. I dont plan to actually use it for anything other than tanking coz of the armor value.
anyway back to the point:

hehe. Panzer. That's a good name for a turtle. Reminds me that I went through a phase where I named all my pets german words. I had a black panther named Rauch (Smoke), a Windserpent named Blitz (Lightning), and I still have ghost saber on my second hunter, and its name is Liebe (love)
Name your Pet the same name as your Arena partner.
If you raid with this person expect to hear from your WWS logger, as it'll ***** up the logs (or at least it did prior to 2.4, the Hunter with the Pet named for the main tank hasn't brought it since that patch).
But that is the only advantage of a Pet name, other than cosmetic. If you aren't looking for a game advantage, why ask here about a cosmetic? Pick what you think is a good name, and roll on.

Original pet (and still going) - a cat (one of the NE sabre family) Caesar. When I call him, log in, etc I select him and "Hail Caesar". I think its funny! I like the look of the cats, so this tends to be my primary choice for the moment.
Next pet was a boar from Westfall, called him Razor after the vicious wild pigs in Oz, razor-backs. Dropped him, regretably. Maybe Razor might make a comeback?
Dino is a raptor from the Wetlands. I meant to callhim Deano after Fred Fintstone's pet, but it was at the end of a long session (6.5 hrs if I recall correctly) so I got my eight year old daughter to name him. She spelt it as D-I-N-O, but quick as a wink when I pointed out her mistake she tells me that Dino is short for dinosaur. So Dino it was. Maybe the next one will be Deano.
Any birds/flyers I tame get called Pillic, a derogatory term soldiers and airmen have for pilots. (As I don't intend to keep these; yet!)
As for what is the best, it is the same for what is the best pet. Call your pet what you want, not what you think others would like. You have to live with it, they only see it every so often. Then again, do you want to may people laugh, sit up and take notice, whatever? Then just ignore me.

However my hunter friend convinced me a spider isn't really the best pet. Plus it made creepy noises.
I had a durotar Tiger named Horangi (Korean for tiger).
I had Horangi until I could get Echeyakee, now named DnevnoyDozor (a favorite russian film of mine, meaning Daywatch, and I'd eventually like Humar to name the opposite, Nightwatch (another film, if you're not familiar =D )
I do like my friend's pets names though, and if I weren't so indecisive, I'd probably go for historical/mythological/literary names.

Kompera, I am aware that pet names are a cosmetic, so how could I possible look for an advantage by naming my pet? I can't think of a pet name I'm happy with so I made this thread to find some inspiration, also coz I wanna see what pet names people come up with.

My pet is a cat, named Xena, first name that came to mind.
