Spell hit rating for arcaneFollow

I'm not sure if this has been answered before:

Does an arcane mage really need spell hit rating? My spell hit rating is around 80.

I've been told several times "you need more spell hit bla bla bla" by players who don't play full arcane or don't play a mage at all.

Personally I've never seen any of my arcane spells beign resisted, at least in PvE and I don't want to sacrifice the nice crit, int, spell dmg I have only to reach the spell hit cap.

So, If I'm right I'd like to read some good and proven facts from experienced players so I can tell these guys to stfu... If not, then I guess I'll have to stfu myself =(

An arcane mage only needs 76 spell hit rating with 5/5 in Arcane Focus. I can't think of the exact percentages right now, but I know 76 is your magic number as arcane.

Now go tell them to stfu
