will try to keep this short...
our current loot rules have kara/gruul/za on open rolling to include outsiders into rolling for loot, and T5 and up content is dkp-based. we finally downed gruul again after a month of rebuilding, and the dragonspine trophy dropped. our rogue CL had been waiting 5 months for it to drop, but since the roll was open to all a shaman from another guild (that we lost many of our hardcore raiders to) rolled higher and won the trinket. understandably, our rogue CL was pissed. however, the loot rules had been posted for discussion for at least a week without resistance, and i myself had been back to look at them many, many, many times just to make sure i wasn't ******** up looting in the 10 mans i was running. on the one hand, we do want to gear our guildies up first, especially one that has worked as hard and has been as dedicated as our rogue CL has. on the other hand, we need to have some incentive to keep nonguildies raiding with us to fill spots in our raids, at least until we can get more consistent raid participation from more guildies.
so... what incentive can we use to appease nonguildies? my rogue CL offered the shaman 700g for the trinket, but the shaman refused. i've thought of reimbursing them for their time and consumables. any other ideas?
