I have the Welfare epic gemmed with 8 and 6 agi gems.
So should I go for the crafted item, live with the Gladiator, or try and get http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?source=live;witem=28589 from Kara.

I would probably save up honour and get the S2 shoulders soon(ish) or wait until you can get T5...
You lose at least (16 x 1.25(LR and BoK)=)20 agility switching to either of the other shoulders (assuming you have 2x8agi socketed)
And that is likely to outweigh the netgain in dps you would get from those other shoulders.

I'd probably aim at the [wowitem=33206]Pauldrons of Primal Fury[/wowitem] The lighting shoulders are very nice, and are a big dps boost, but they don't have the agility I'd want as SV. Also they look like crap.

I agreed with Aethien. I would work towards the s2 shoulders either with arena or building honor waiting for s4 to start.
I'm survival with the s2 and i don't think there's anything in tier 4 or crafted sets.
I'll get back to you if my guild ever gets into tier 5 content. Heh.

shoulders and weapon require ratings for seasons beyond season 2. I think in season 4 most things will require some kind of rating.
Many slots will require a high rating in S4.
Once S4 opens S3 shoulders should cost less Arena points and may require a lower Arena rating.
