I've always wondered about ice barrier. The mechanics of the spell don't actually apply to the game. I think that if they changed it to where it did that it would be a good buff for the mages.
Lets look at what it is. A barrier of ice surrounding the mage protecting it from incomming attacks. If this is true, then why does a rogues poisons still get applied to you? A rogue applies them by coating his weapon with them and then inserting the weapon into you. If there is suppose to be a barrier that stops this then the poisons should not be applied. Same with sap (at blow to the back of the head by the butt of the knife), and hamstring, mortal strike, ect.
So I was wondering if this sort of change would help or hurt mages more. Say that any phisical attack or missile type attack (bolts) as well as any effect they would apply would be negated by ice barrier. Heals would still pass since they don't apply to those. But in turn, so would curses and the such, as well as you would still take damage from the DoTs since they were attacking you from within the barrier. And anything applied to you before you cast ice barrier would still effect you. What you guys think?
