Hi

I was wondering, what experience do you guys have with the 3 specs in pvp? I wanna be able to help my fellow arena mates out, and on the other hand, I would like to be able to do pvp easy solo if you understand.
Can you guys give me your oppinion on the 3 specs and perhaps link your own spec wit comments? :)

Well I'm not sure about a full balance moonkin in PvP, as I am currently a Restokin/Dreamstate druid, but if your're worried about "soloing" BG's, any form of healing build will do fine, since there WILL be healing to do in BG's. You can also just HoT up and continue to wrath spam for 1v1 encounters

The one thing I really enjoy is just being a distraction in PvP. Such as when all your buddies left LM alone in AB and 2-3 of the opposite faction come over to cap the flag. There's no one around to help you!! WHAT DO YOU DO!?? Why you HoT up, jump in the middle of them, and continue to /rofl spam them as there are 3 of them pounding on you getting nowhere. In the meantime, 4 of your faction come over and destroy them! WOOT GJ you just saved your LM by yourself!

Pathetic example I know...but you can still have a TON of fun with a healing build in BG's just by NOT DYING!

Edit: Grammar/spelling

I'm currently a Restokin build (Dreamstate Resto), took the Moonkin talent simply for the PvP aspect of the build. I was Tree/Full Resto prior doing BG's and Arena, and so far the survivability aspect of Restokin is much more dominant and preferable (to me, anyway).

I enjoyed being ToL for Raiding with my Guild, but I can still heal effectively in Raid and PvP is a lot easier in terms of staying alive and not being an immediate target for every Warrior or Rogue on the other team as a Restokin.

I have not done full Balance, and probably won't...as I primarily a healer in PvE and we don't have the healing coverage in our Guild to allow for it. Which is fine, cause I enjoy healing as well.

Perfect timing here. Restokin sounds like a great PvP build but I am curious about a pure moonkin build. I'm a 69 feral and dueled a 70 moonkin this morning who had, I think, 42/11/7 (? only glanced at his talents). He narrowly won with trees the 1st time and I destroyed him the second -- and I absolutely suck at dueling (and many aspects of PvP -- keyboard turner).

This made me think. I keep reading that moonkin pwns in PvP but my feral has killed every one he's come across with ease. They don't seem to have much control other than two roots, and any class but shaman can trinket out of one and sprint/blink/whatever out of the other. Having tried to kill resto druids before I can see why they're so amazing in PvP but what it is the advantage of a moonkin w/out lots of resto talents? Do they basically need that resto goodness to be useful?

Edit: Of course, they have cyclone, too. You can see I'm a 69 noob. :)

Roots/Cyc for CC...and Restokin's don't use full Balance builds, so they get bonuses out of the Resto tree. For instance, I'm built to 34/0/27 right now...so viability & Resto goodness is built in. But I get the majority of the benefits from balance and PewPew to my hearts content as a Moonkin. It's a little more gear-reliant...and it definitely shines in PvP with PvP gear having Armor bonuses on them.

My main consern (spelling?) is that Im afraid that in arena if Im a restokin I wont be able to do enough healing? Im afraid that i wont have the mana and so to shift back and forth between moonkin and healing?

Could you please link your restokin and moonkin build? :)

Normal resto build, 8/11/42 (although i use 11/11/39 for IS) is better for arena. I have tried moonkin and restokin builds with and they are not so good. As restokin, you would be expected to be the healer in 2v2. When i tried it, i rarely ever went into moonkin and did damage becuase i always needed to heal myself or my partner. I can see why people want to try restokin, but i couldnt get it to work when i tried it.

The best advice i can give is to try the specs out. The only problem which i find with being resto is that my damage is obviously low. People cant kill me, but it takes me a while to kill others(unless its a rogue lawl).

Im not entirely sure of THE restokin build, but the one i used had no points in feral. I think i used a build like this:

The problem is that Feral druids are very much the scissors to the Moonkin's paper. They can shift out of any non-cyclone CC (and should be able to avoid hibernate by shifting/bashing) and just eat Moonkins. Also depends on how the fight starts (from a distance, who gets the jump) and wether you're fighting a kitty or bear.

Anywya, other than Ferals, as a Moonkin I feel I do well against most other classes (with the annoyance of rogues being the only real pain in my ***)

I think one of the big arguements for Restokin over 8/11/42 or 11/11/39 is the rediculous mp/5 you can get from DS and Intensity. It makes it really hard for a 'lock or priest to burn through your mana. Don't know if that makes it worth giving up possibly Feral Charge and some of the other deep resto talents, though.

That pretty much sums up the situation.

I guess that your decision depends on what you would prefer.

Put simply:
Advantages of restokin:
* Dreamstate and lunar guidance help so much when it comes to healing. Say you have 500int, thats an extra +125damage and healing and 50mp5.
* Much improved damage.
* BOOMKIN!

Advantages of normal resto:
* Switfmend is awesome and it will save you on many occasions.
* Feral charge is great for arena, chasing runners and annoying the flag carrier in WSG.
* Overall better healing (with talents such as Gift of Nature and Empowered Rejuvination).

Try a 35/0/26 build and see how it feels. If you're not enjoying it, try the 8/11/42 normal resto build.

So I actually just went back to a full Resto build with a few perks for BG's & Arena. Went 0/13/48, obviously took Feral Charge, but also took Feral Swiftness for some help flag running in WSG and EotS. Didn't lose much, took 4/5 in Furor (I messed up somewhere...meant to take 5/5)...so I gotta fix that.

"Not" having Swiftmend was killin' me. While it was fun doing the Boomkin/Resto thing...I wasn't doing enough Dmg to justify it and wasn't using it as much as I thought I would in Arena (although the few times I did, it was nice seeing people stop in their tracks not knowing what to do). It has it's perks, and the near limitless MP pool was beneficial. But with Innervate and most Arena matches not lasting over 5 minutes, I just itched to go back.

Plus, Kara this past weekend was kinda "bleh" not being tree. Healing didn't feel as efficient and again, missing SM was a big part of that.

Thanks for the reply earlier on feral. Who is boomkin scissors to? (Or rock depending on the situation I guess.) Warriors I imagine. Anyone else? I have a mage who's fun to PvP with, can the boomkin do anything the mage can't in Pvp? (Not trying to diss the spec, just curious, because the mage has also done well against boomkins.)

They can heal themselves. Boomkins biggest bonuses over other Casters isn't DPS-wise, it's survival-wise. They can heal, and have a pretty hefty Armor bonus from Moonkin form. Otherwise, they're DPS is going to be on par with any other DPS caster (if not a little less effective).
