Could use some advice here.Follow

Well i have a 47 rogue, decently geared. Mostly in blues with mid level enchants etc. I ran into this 38 lock so i thought, hey, why not. I cheap shotted him and ss spammed, and as soon as i went to kidney shot he sac'd his VW and just curse of exhaustion and fear kited me till i died of DOTs. Im almost 10 levels higher than him, yet i never saw a single "resist" or anything like that. Was i doing something wrong, cuz i dont think i suck that bad. It just doesnt seem like things went the way they should have. Some pvp advice or telling me what i did wrong would be helpful, or just confirming that locks are OP.

KS him, then as your KS is ending, gouge through his VW sac. CoEx < Crippling Poison; if you're on a PvP server, you should always be using Crip. At that level you should have AR, so I'd just AR/BF him down.

If not, you should at least have Imp Sprint, so Imp Sprint out of CoEx, Vanish out of the next one, trinket out of the one after that, and catch up to him long enough to get Crip on and it's GG.

Practice in some BGs ...

BGs are difficult when your latency randomly spikes over 10k. I have nightmares about the message "Out of Range"

Thanks for the advice Theo, ill keep that in mind. I didnt bother using vanish cuz i knew the DOTs would knock me out of it but i never thought to use it to break it.

Seems like all the skills that would help in this situation are 60+.

Still, my mage gets resisted by players a few levels higher, but someone 10 levels lower doesnt miss anything? Just seems odd to me.

Ive actually considered respeccing sub to deal with situations like this, but i wonder how much it will affect my pve game.

Had a similiar issue. I was waiting for a guildie I was gonna run through VC in Westfall and a 64 lock challenged me. I accepted and he pretty much did the same thing, curse of exhaustion and kite all day long. I got him down to flashing red, but it was over with a couple DoT ticks.

Come to find out I wasn't paying attention and accepted with no poisons and my trinket in my bag. I wanted a rematch, but all my cooldowns were blown and my guildie showed up before. Good learning experience though.

So is all of WoW.

Fix your connection - or don't expect to win in PvP. Especially as a Rogue.

To be good, you should be under 100ms ALWAYS.

The XP registry fix (google WoW TCPAck Registry fix) will go a long way to helping. Since I implemented it, I NEVER go over 80ms, and usually sit steady at 67. Landing kicks on 1.5 second spells is SO easy now...

Man I was crying tears of joy when, after 2.4, my latency was almost never over 150.

AH HA!! We have figured out you and Theo's secret. You all aren't better rogues than I, it's just that you have much lower latency!!

Well that's what I would tell myself as I was getting my *** kicked by you guys. ^^

I haven't done any registry editing.

I normally sit at 100-300ms.
