So I rolled a hunter a while ago to try to figure out why most hunters I come across suck in groups/raids. And while I did manage to come to a conclusion to that question (which is worthy of an entire thread itself), I found something unexpected as well. I actually really enjoy playing a hunter.
I'm currently a level 49 BM hunter. I picked up a boar as soon as I could, and I used him exclusively until level 46, at which point I figured I'd better pick up a DPS pet if I want to run some instances as I prepare for the outlands. I also figured that I had better start earning some loyalty, since I've read that earning loyalty endgame can be difficult. So I picked up a cat, who was level 43 at the time. Now that I'm level 49, I have two level 46 pets and I seem to be leveling at a faster rate than my pets. I know that pets only receive a portion of my experience, but it doesn't appear that they receive any experience given from quests. Given the greatly increased experience from quests from 30-60 and the reduced experience to level from 20-60, are others having difficulty keeping multiple pets up to their level? Do they benefit from rested XP as well? Can anyone offer any suggestions?
How bad is it to go and level a pet that you are considerably higher level than? I really like the boar for soloing, but I'm having a blast with the cat too.
Thanks in advance,
Camel
