new wep for raidingFollow

#1 Apr 23 2008 at 7:10 PM Rating: Decent
hey guys my rogue hit 70 about a week ago and i currently have the s1 swords (hoping to make the jump to s3 but i wont be good enough for a while)

im in a raiding guild that does kara gruuls za and mags lair and a few bosses in ssc. they are all better geared then me and i come most times if i can handle it. usually they let me come. i was thinking of getting the new badge chest legs and belt but think maybe it will be better to respec combat fists and get the badge fists first. or at least the mh. question is do you think it would be better for me to get the fists first or the chest? ill link my armory and i know most my gear isnt very good so far but after a few weeks i should have maybe gotten a few drops from kara and za at least.

also maybe that 5 extra crit will be pretty nice. not sure so let me know what you think.

honestly weapons are the least of your problems right now. If you keep getting invites its pretty obvious they just need some random dps and it doesn't matter what you do as long as you do something. Just keep trying to get upgrades in kara and za. I'de say run heroics, but if your guild is taking you into raid content no reason to waste you time. Just bring haste potions, flask and agi food. Try to max your dps cycle and you will catch up with gear.

yeah thats what i think also but there is a certain allure about having really nice weapons. ill try to resist it but im thinking that if i get the mh fist wep first it will boost my dps alot more then getting the new badge chest first. and there is still some hope that i can get a decent chest or belt and other gear from kara and za. and there isnt anything like the 103 dps weps i have a chance at getting except for maybe the talon of azshara or the s2 wep. but those are still way inferior to the new badge weps.

Talon is better than the Merc mh so I'd stick with ssc for now. Unless you're extremely good at arenas and can get your s3 mh. Also, you're not going to upgrade your goggles anytime soon so you might want to throw in a 4agil/4stam gem.

Use the spreadsheet to see what will give the best upgrade.

In general, a weapon-upgrade will increase your dps more than an armor-upgrade does.

One tip I can give you coming from the same position you are in now. I went and got my S1 MH and S2 OH and that put my DPS at a nice spot. Now I have been working on hit rating (very very important) AP and crit rating.

I have noticed you got the midnight legs and you have what looks like green gems in them. Big no no, you should farm some gold and spring the cash to buy the 4agi,4hr orange gem. It is worth it in the long run as hr mixed with agi will increase your over all combat potency.

Remember that no matter how much people say bigger weapons hit harder, you have to remember that the rogue has a lot of little stats you have to be conscious of as well.

As you're maxed out on enchanting, you should also enchant your rings. You've got everything else enchanted so why miss out on an extra +8 to all stats or +4 damage?

You've run SSC with 1400 AP and less than 200 hit?

The fists. While you are raiding hopefully some good equip will drop, and the fists will give you the best dps increment with any kind of equip.

Great nick btw :-)

yes my enchanting is maxed and i have the stat ring enchant i just didnt want to put them on these crappy rings. in a day or 2 im in kara again and getting the rep ring and hopes for the thousand mark ring to drop. once i get better rings that chant is going on for sure.

still undecided but i just want to say thanks for all the replies so far. and im gonna use the spread sheet now and see what it says

Your gems and enchants suck.

Get a goddamn clue and stop being a scrub.

yeah i know my gems arent good. they are the crap green gems but whats wrong with my enchants?? double mongoose, the best head, shoulder, bracers and back enchant. the gloves are good and legs are good. other then that my feet suck i know that and my rings arent chanted yet.

the question again is do i get the new badge fists first and respec combat fists and hope some better gear drops for me or should i deal with the weps i have since they are ok and just work on getting my gear up to par?

Badge fists, blue gems. Or at least stop socketing AP in your goddamn PvE gear if PvE is your focus.

Basically your gear sucks for one or the other; choose one and gem appropriately.

Do you have the ring from the Kara quest? And the ring enchants are cheap...as are the gems. Talk to a miner in your guild and they should have stacks of uncut gems. Glinting Noble Topaz's aren't expensive...buy it cheap from a guildie and find another to cut it. Or tip someone 5g....it's easy easy upgrades.

yes im working on getting more of the blue quality gems. i have already bought 3 dawnstones 3 noble topaz and 1 of the purple ones. and yes im going to kara again tonight and will be getting the rep ring there. it just takes some time to get all this gear. no matter how good you are its impossible to just hit 70 and be geared up. so maybe in about 2 more weeks ill be better off.

Why the hell would you buy a purple gem if you don't have a RED?

Though it is true that it is impossible to "just be geared up" when you ding 70. It is very possible to have done your research and know what you are going for in terms of sockets,enchants,weapons.. etc.

Rogue is one of the classes where there is a large separation between the scrubs and those that pull their weight. Please do not be a leech and try to make your gear all it can be.

Wrong meta also, you might also want to save for the badge boots. Two sockets and they'll last you until BT.
