Not really one of those questions...Follow

Everybody always asks how much HP they need on a prot pally to start tanking heroics and Kara. Now obviously I will need to know that info eventually, but for now I have another question.

How much HP do I need to tank Shattered Halls, Shadow Lab, Steamvault, and the other level 70 instances.

I ask because my prot pally is about to ding level 69 and according to warcrafter.net he will have about 9970 HP in his current gear when he dings 70. I expect to have a few upgrades and possible somewhere around 10,500 HP by then. I know I don't need the full 490 def to be uncrittable in these normal 70 instances, but I should easily be somewhere around 450-460 def when I ding 70 and I will have about 80% combined avoidance with Holy Shield up.

Will I have any problems if I waltz into NORMAL Mechanar, Black Morass, or any other 70 instance with an average PUG?

10k is not an unreasonable goal at all, and easily attainable with quest rewards you should have gotten from leveling.

and the other stats can be minimal and you wont have a problem.
