Hell, it's about time!

I've finally got my new widescreen monitor UI in a stable enough state that I think it's fine to release. Be warned that you will get error messages on startup, but they don't affect actual interface stuff other than being annoying.

Delicious screenshots!

WIP (It's changed a lot ^^)

Party and Focus
Raid Frames

Yes, it's bright yellow and black, what can I say, I love bees. If you really hate it that much I could always release a pack in another colour =P

The Party Frames modeller was asked beforehand and eagerly awaits his e-fame.

I'm assuming the installer knows how to pull up a config dialog for most AddOns, but just in case:
SCT: /sct menu
Omen: /omen config
Bongos3: right-click hidden icon

Note that this is the first actual fully widescreen UI I've made (1440x900). It WILL all fit on a different 4:3 resolution quite easily, but you'll need to realign everything back into position.

I've included various stuff to make it usable for other classes: there's a pre-configured Totem Timer that shows up for shammies in the pet info spot, the raid frames could be used as a sort of ghetto Grid and the keybound action bar has three pages (PvP, PvE and Boss Fights/Stealth, PvP and PvE, what have you), the Swing Timer is layered over the cast bar to make basic Hunter Shot Rotations possible... the pet setup with the HoT tracker was actually inspired by playing on my Hunter ^^

Me no like. Loads of space which is fantastic, but too much in the middle as it were. Lovig the yellow and black, however. :o)

A person's UI is a personal thing, isn't it. I have SO much going on on mine that I have had to implement FuBar AND Titan to manage it. Which is stupid, and I need to cut it down big time.

Thank God I have a powerful, work supplied laptop to run it on!

It's just my personal preference, as a Demolock I like having my pet bar, my target info, my health and mana, my DoT timers and all the stuff which is vital for my DPSing right where my eyes are normally trained. My guild uses Ventrilo so the only time I ever look away from the middle is to check chat logs (and Prat is set so anything with my name in it pops up in the /rw frame) or see how many of us are dead, which isn't normally a good sign anyway.

In PvP, it's good to be able (I find) to have all the vital information right where I can see and understand it. Practically everything in the UI (the text for the stats and minimap are the exceptions) is at 70% transparency and the only blindspot is if some kind of stick insect hides behind my health and mana bars or maybe a Gnome stands inside me, in which case his nameplate is layered over my health bars and he's pretty damn open for a HoT ^^

EDIT: oddly enough, since I've cleared it out, this is now my smallest (filesize-wise) UI yet!

Ah, Ventrilo means you can afford that "middle ground" stuff.

My eyes are usually anywhere BUT the middle. Chat, buttons, health...all top and bottom of screen. The occasional glance to the middle is all I really need.

Funny how different we all are innit!

That does look like a low cost UI, I must admit. What size screen you using?

1440x900. I find that keeping my eyes near the middle of the screen makes me better at noticing stuff like Void Zones spawning under my pet, whether my character just got Enfeebled, where the Blizzard on Aran currently is... it's a lot easier for me to just flick my eyes a little to the left or right than it would be to look up from a health bar at the bottom.

Yours is bigger than mine. :oP

I have less distance to move the eyes, obviously. ;o)

Heh, it wouldn't be hard for me to make a smaller version, but I'd rather wait until the download for the normal one is up. I'm debating whether to go the "scaling" route or just the "moving closer together" route for that, if I do it. Converting my old UI to widescreen was easy, converting a widescreen UI to a smaller screen is more complicated ^^

EDIT: mediocre news, everyone! THIS horribly made ms-paint job shows that my UI would fit into a space of 851x718!

I managed to keep everything but the Wretched's nameplate tho ^^

Also, getting proper CC shots is horrible. I don't focus-fear while grinding and when I'm banishing in instances is really not a good time to take screenies, or my DPS goes down the pan/the mob breaks out and I have to spend ages asking everyone if they mind being in the screenie ^^

Well, there's Recount (hidden in screenshots) and the real-time DPS window which comes with it, there's Proximo which pops up between the faded, keybound action bar and the chat boxes, there's an autohidden FuBar at the top which I move to the bottom during raids (obstructs the top two raid members)...

Also, mousing over any unit frame will change the text displayed on it. Raid and Party frames will show the % of HP, IIRC and other frames will display the level and absolute HP data.

Most of the design was born from a want of a small, compact UI which I could easily add to and could be easily modified with interchangable "chunks", like swapping Recount out for the Battlefield Map, the bars which display above my chat log and faded action bars (breath/logout or repop timers I can't get to work on the right, BigWigs to the left), the pet => GotWood switch for Shammies...
