Whirlwind axe questionFollow

I have seen that many people think Whirlwind axe is a great weapon from lvl 30 . But when i look at the summoning quest it appears like you need to be lvl 40 to get it. Im currently lvl 35 can i have it know? And when should i look for another 2hander?

You can get it at 30, i know i did. But you need help from a higher level m8.
The charms (i think thats what they are called) and the liferoot can be bought of ah.
You can probaly get the troll tusks from STV by yourself at lvl 35, but the elite guy at the end you´ll need help with.

You can get it at 30 if you have help. It really is an amazing weapon if you can get it that early.

I've done this quest a couple of times....the 1st time I soloed it at lvl 38 (which was a real pain in the a**) and the 2nd time I wised up and got help to fight the summons (lvl 36). Here's the difference that I found, the 1st time I fought all of the creatures needed to obtain the charms and the tusks, but these creatures are all lvls 35 to 40, so at lvl 35 these things might be a little hard for u. Plus the exiles have a horrible drop rate, so you'll be fighting forever to obtain the charms and dying ALOT.

Bottomline, if you want to do the quest at 35, then buy the regents needed from the AH and/or guildies and then get some high lvl help for the cyclone summons at the end (he's lvl 40). Otherwise wait until until u are closer to 39 or 40 to try.

And yes the axe, sword, or hammer (depending your preference and weapon skills) are all great weapons.

To answer your question about how long you can use it; I used it exclusively to about lvl 45 and switched between it and some dual wield weapons to about lvl 50 when I got another 2H to replace it.

Got mine as level 40. was so lucky to have a level 48 priest help me with the last guy. didn't change it before lvl 51 with IBS which should last to outland in my book.

Ive seen level 60s using it pre-TBC.

The bonebiter is really good but you may be better off taking the 1h sword instead. At those levels I found myself tanking constantly and that sword lasted all the way til the thrash blade at 45.

at that level you can tank fine with some green off the AH. Besides, the majority of people just solo through those levels anyway. On my alliance warrior i skipped the WW axe completely. Leveled DW from 20-35, got bonebiter at 35. then you can get an executioner's cleaver at 43 or so, and then IBS at 51 which lasts till outlands.

If horde, WW is a good weapon to get until you can get an executioner's cleaver.
