ok so iv been hearing alot of things about the different weapon specs for warriors. http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Spinebreaker&n=Slaymor is my current Arms warrior lvl 51 I like to PVP but also need to lvl. I like axe/pole spec but was thinking about switching to Sword because alot of people say the DPS is better, "5%crit = 5% extra attack). Is this true? does a attack gen more rage then a crit strike? Tell me which is better?

An attack that crits generates more rage than a normal attack, yes. A special attack consumes the rage.

Math aside, most people think;

Swords is more PvE DPS than Axes. Axes are only barely less dps, and on orcs they probably are even be MORE dps than swords. Swords for humans...

the rage math as far as I know; (remember PEMDAS)

(This is for Level 70)
Rage = (7.5 x (damage dealt) / 274.7 + (Weapon speed) x (Weapon type factor*) / 2

Weapon type factor;
Main Hand normal hit - 3.5
MH Crit - 7
OH Hit - 1.75
OH Crit - 3.5

So you hit a mob for 1000 white damage on a normal hit MH 2.6 speed;

((7.5 x 1000) / 274.7 + (2.6 x 3.5)) / 2 = ~18 rage gen

If you crit instead, same values;
((7.5 x 1000) / 274.7 + (2.6 x 7)) / 2 = ~23 rage gen

Change the 274.7 value to 0.0091107836*Level*Level +3.225598133*Level+4.2652911 for what level your at...

Yes, it's complicated.

Ok, the thing is, for PvP you should spec maces.
Swords far out perform axes in PvP once you get characters that have resilience.

Extra sword attacks generally are more rage than axe spec. Extra attacks will generate more rage than a crit would. Note that I say 'Extra'.

If you special attack, and get an extra sword attack, you just spent and gained rage. If you crit that special, the rage cost is the same. If you white attack, and crit, you gain more rage. But the gain is not double a normal attack. If you get an extra attack, from a white hit, you gain ~2x the normal rage.
