Shadowrend Longblade or Grand Marshal's Longsword?Follow

I thought the Shadowrend Longblade looked like a nice sword and I heard Watchkeeper Gargolmar is the first boss and a bit of a push over so I figured what the hell. I think I am up to like 11 runs but haven't had much luck. If I was a Paladin, or was playing my Hunter, I would have some sweet gear. So far the only thing to drop that I could even equip was Pauldrons of Arcane Rage and I don't see that helping my Rogue a whole lot.
I liked Grand Marshal's Longsword more, but I am not much of a PVPer, so I figured I would go for the Shadowrend.. Now I have my doubts.

Should I just keep doing ramparts or should I switch to doing AB instead? The marks shouldn't be that hard, I think I already have a few marks from there. The honor will be a PITA to get I fear.

Also, what kind of a chance does a level 60 have in AB?

Thanks for any input.

Do Ramparts, you get XP at the same time.

The honour grind is pretty long for the sword, although it is certainly the better of the two.

Yesterday, the sword dropped but the Hunter got it. I think a Rogue has a bit more use for the sword than a Hunter but it was an upgrade for him. I fear that was my one shot at the sword for this month. That is a lot of honor needed for that sword.

In AB, the level range is 60-69 so you'd basically be there to take a place and (hopefully) communicate with the team. The chances of you doing any meaningful damage are slim.

AV is a different matter because the range runs 51-60, so you'll be top dog in there.

So if you're going down the PVP route, AV for the honor and AB for the marks. But I'd only recommend this if you're planning to stay at 60 for ever. If you're going to level any time soon, it's not worth it as you'll replace the weapon in a few levels.

Dam, I sat at 59 for a while and noticed I still wasn't the highest in AV so I thought they made it so the BGs were a little different now and the highest would be 60 for all of them.

Good point about AV for the honor. Hadn't thought about that.

Thank you much.

If you're planning on leveling up soon anyway I say don't worry about either of them.

Yes, the PVP sword is one of the highest DPS MH sword you will find until level 70, but it's not worth grinding BGs over and over for.

The Shadowrend sword is a little more worth it since you will get exp from the instance as well as a chance at the other drops from Ramparts you can use.

Agree with the above. It's a nice drop for the level, but not so much of an upgrade that you'll keep it for long. Unless you're running Ramps/BF for rep, don't worry about it too much. I think I replaced mine with Extra Sharp Blade not long after I started questing around the Bone Wastes (so, lvl 63ish?). Just my 2 pennies.
