Farming BG marksFollow

I'm almost through level 68, getting towards 69 and I'm thinking about the gear I'll need to pvp effectively when I hit 70.

From idly looking over the S1/vindicator gear, I think it'll take around 190k honor and 90 AB marks, 70 AV, 100 EotS and blessedly only 50 marks from WSG. All of this is assuming I'll not be able to find partners for the Arena.

I've already got enough Alterac Valley marks and about 9000 honour but for the rest, I'm wondering whether it'd be better to farm the marks at 69, when I'm top of the level range or press on to 70?

Any advice please?

I've heard someone saying sth about grinding at 69, before there are all those 70s with ubber stuff. No clue what he was talking about, as far as I know, all the 6x do BGs with us 70s. So you should get to 70, so you can equip the best stuff and have your best abilities, spells, etc.

Then start arenas right away, don't wait. At least 10 games per week and you'll get some points (you'll loose must games at the beginning, but it's still some points to save up).

Do BG according to your taste. I tented to think that AV was the best points/time ratio, but things have changed a bit with the new repeatable quest where you exchange a mark of each against 411 honor or so. It can now be very good to farm the marks from whichever BG you have the least: even if you loose that specific BG, you'll be able to exchange the "loosers" mark (together with 3 others you have in your inventory) to the quest giver, for 411 honor; not too shabby).

Really, which BG to do depends on your server, on the weekly specials, etc... and it also evolves based on the education of your side. Like Horde is usually smarter and adjusts quicker, we tend to loose after each patch. Then the Alliance finally gets the trick and we start winning again so it's better to to AV then because you can get tons of points.

Also, note that with 2.4, killing people gives very nice honnor again. Kill 5 people solo in a BG (which is not hard as a rogue) and you'll get 105 honor points. Pretty cool.

Note that 190k seems a bit extreme. Don't go crazy. Just farm the max points you can store (75k) so you can buy some S2 when S4 comes out. Also, by the time S4 is out, you should have enough arnea points to at least get the gloves which are very important (makes DT interrupt spells). Know you'll get some more S4 quickly (like leggs, chest) so don't go crazy farming Honor for those pieces. Just take it easy and enjoy.

The Top AV bracket is 61-70, all other BG's have a bracket for 70's only. If you find you're doing extremely well in the 69 bracket, stay put. If not, Meh, level. Also: here's a quick and most likely inaacurate breakdown of my s4 opening day plans...

Guardian’s Gear
Honor: 75,000 | Marks: 100AB 100AV 100EOTS 100WSG

Neck (15,300 – 10EOTS)
59,700 | 100AB 100AV 90EOTS 100WSG

Bracers (11,794 – 20WSG)
47,906 | 100AB 100AV 90EOTS 80WSG

Waist (17,850 40AB)
30,056 | 60AB 100AV 90EOTS 80WSG

Boots (17,850 40EOTS)
12,206 | 60AB 100AV 50EOTS 80WSG

Turn in For Great Honor 10 times.
Honor 15,346 | Marks: 50AB 90AV 40EOTS 70WSG

Ring (15,300 AV10)
46 | 50AB 80AV 40EOTS 70WSG

How do you get so much honor? I know you earn the most by going 1v1, but those hordes always walk in groups... I'm trying to defend/assault bases, carry flags, but that's still very slow... I'm making like 1k a day, sitting like 3 hours. Some advice on honor grinding would be nice

theres tier0 pvp gear.
get on wowwiki and look up "Opportunist's Battlegear"
You only need honored with 5 different factions for each piece, and i dont think they have a set bonus, but the gloves have the same DT spell interrupt as the actual PVP pieces.

Everyone should be saving honor/arena points at this point until you get 75k/5k. If you get to the cap and you're going to get more, THEN buy something.

Probably not a 70. At the 3x or 4x brackets I can see 1k for a 3-hour session.

If you honor/arena points are capped, shouldn't you consider the Vindicator stuff and the trink? Or are these being upgraded with the new season?

Either way, every serious PvPer I know is saving up for when the next season starts. So, two pennies.

The only thing I'd buy if you're capped is the S3 ring, as you're gonna need it for next season anyway.

Everything else at this point is fluff.
