So I finally decided to level the boar from RFK.

The same time I went the and got my boar all of a sudden the game glitched and I found myself unable to log out or exit the instance, so I X'ed out of the game and reloaded just to find I could not log into my hunter for a good hour or 2.

I finally saw my toon log out while on an alt and I find that I was dead... God knows how... so I ran back and hearthed out. Told the GM it was fixed and thanked him for his help.

Now my lil black armored boar is 60 and with the highest rank Charge available is kickin some ***** Finally actually getting some help with the mobs I have been having to kite for the past week or so. These dailies are tough with a low level pet. Specially the netherwing ones.

I love this boar and it is gonna own in PVP.

Get a Boar!

Oh? The other day I got recommended a boar (God knows why, I am new) since I didnt know what was so special about them but I was thinking of trying one out and now I may do so in a bit :)

Makes me a little hyped to see good comments about certain pets and stuff.

Charge breaks CC, and the threat spike from charge is gone.

GG get a real pet.

Thats why you use it in soloing. Anyway the Boar I got was for PvP. Thats the whole idea. I have only had my boar break my trap once out of the whole time Ive had it so I guess Im not doing to bad.

Plus these guys eat [almost] ANYTHING!

Unlike those stubborn cats who only eat fish and meat.

Total nonsense. Charge does NOT break CC and it doesnt even cause aggro by itself. My boar has charged polymorphed, trapped and sleeped mobs and players and has applied the immobilise effect without breaking CC.

The 'threat spike' from Charge is still working fine, as it adds AP to the first attack; also, on melee mobs it *forces* that mob to attack the Boar. If the mob cannot move it switches target to the pet, which is now in melee range.

I'd love to know what a 'real pet' is then.... a cat, presumably?

Wow Forums states that, on number 134 blue post
"I have confirmed with the developers that Boar's growl ability getting such a large bonus to attack power based on charge is a bug. Growl should only benefit from the hunter's attack power and get no benefit from buffs to the pet's attack power."

"Expect this to be changed in a future patch. If you disagree with this change please post about it in the suggestions or class forums. "

Bubye uber pigs, R.I.P. your threat spikes will be missed.

I have seen the Charge break my freeze traps on many occasions, while grouped and soloing, if i leave Charge on auto-cast. maybe that got changed in a recent patch or hotfix, because I've now switched to my cat for day to day use. Lower threat early on, but it builds faster.

The AP boost is still working fine. However, before the patch the AP boost was applied to the Growl, greatly boosting the threat. As apposed to the 1st melee attack, which only adds a small amount.
Also, the melee mob is only *forced* to attack the pet for the length of time it is immobilised i.e. about 1 second. It is not a taunt of any fashion.
