Arena Help!Follow

Me and my two friends are making an arena team together. One is going enhancement shaman, one is an assasination rogue, and ME. (A Paladin) Problem is I dont know what build to go. I have heard Shockadin and Ret are both viable choices to go... but everyone i talk to says mixed things. I have heard Shockadin deals good damage and heals very well so i can hurt people while making sure everyone stays alive. I have heard Ret with the above team will do so much damage, the fights will be short and sweet, and both the shaman and I could throw a couple heals around when needed. I have also heard scratch this team because of the lack of CC and start anew. (I dont like the last piece of advice :P) So if anyone has a comment please help if you can, i would greatly appreciate. Thank You in advance...

Shockadin is terrible. The damage really isn't that great and it's predictable. The healing is not as good either. You are gimping your team more by trying to dps instead of sitting back and being a dedicated healer.

Retribution... I don't want to get into it, but it's better than shockadin. Way better damage and burst potential that overshadows the shockadin's ability to heal.

That setup is currently what I'm doing too (Enh. Shaman, me and Rogue) and we get our asses handed to us most of the time. Mostly do to the CC. I don't take that team seriously anymore and it's just something fun I do with my friends "Let's see if we can win one this week"

Shammy, rogue, pally team. Please roll on Reckoning battlegroup, please.

Ret is heavily gear dependant, if you are in blues and kara gear, or even S1 gear you are a wimp and not much of a challenge. Get it into a mix of raid gear and s2/s3 and yeah I might watch out to see if you know how to play.

Shockadin = fail. I can't put it more clearly than that. You could try to argue it, but really it would only expose huge gaping holes of knowledge about the basics of Arena PvP and make me hate you for arguing ignorance rather than listening to reason.

Just go holy and heal them. Or ret and have your shaman go resto. You NEED a dedicated healer. Double melee is pretty solid though, and you have good burst. But resto shamans and particularly holy paladins are weak as hell in 3v3. Have fun, you'll get targetted and destroyed first 8 games out of 10. Counterspelled, curse of tongued, feared, sheeped, resheeped, blinded, sapped. Make sure to have a good BoSac macro if you plan on healing because you'll get CC'd like a *****.

Oh get ready for the fun of mana burns too. I think resto shaman, ret paladin, mut rogue would work better then holy paladin, enh shaman, mut rogue.

Agreed. Though if your Shaman doesn't want to be a healer, you're better off as a Healadin than as a Shockadin. You won't be topping any battlegroups, but you should be able to do well enough.
