So I was in a guild run of Heroic MgT today, and Vial of the Sunwell dropped. The healer didn't need it, nor the Ret Paly, so they said, "Let's make Aubri take it!" Ok, so I did.

Currently when I heal I am using Ribbon of Sacrifice and Xi'ri's Gift. My stats, as a Prot spec (cause I'm not respeccing just to make a post =P) are: 1330 +healing, 17.76% spell crit, and 77 Mp5 while casting.

I'm thinking of replacing the blue with the Vial: would this be the right move?

Thanks in advance for any advice :)

Most definately. As it is it's giving you very little. There is NO reason to get crit as a prot pally healing as we don't have illumination (mana back on crits) so it makes it a poor stat.

Most tend to just stack up on healing and mp5 like a shaman would

It's a very nice trinket that will fit well into a FoL spam and those times you need to get a quick instant heal off.

Good point :) Don't know why I hadn't thought of that, lol, but you're right.

Should I keep the crit one though in case of a respec? I recently learned I may be asked to go Holy for a little while (though not permanently). In that case I would have Illumination making crit worthwhile. Should I still keep the 2 epics, or keep the blue around for if/when a respec occurs?

When you respec, the crit rating you lose from that one trinket will easily be replaced with talents. I'd keep it in the bank just in case tho.

I'd keep the Crit trinket, but right now you're a little short on mp5 so i'd still use the vial. If you can keep mp5 above about 100 unbuffed then its probably not worth keeping an mp5 trinket and stacking a bit more crit or heal.

Ribbon of sacrifice is about as useful as Bod complaining to the GM of his old guild.

That too, for a rep reward blue the Lower City Prayerbook is surprisingly win (especially for a spamadin), either that or the badge one.

From what a couple of holy paladins in my guild were saying, the trinket from MagT is pretty useless if you have a couple Kara level trinkets.

I don't personally see how that much MP5 can be useless, just passing on the message.

For the most part I haven't bothered to "waste" gold or badges to get healing gear because I haven't had to do much healing at all. The Sha'tar one, I don't even remember why I bought that, lol. I think I had some really crappy green one that was just looking ugly in the bank, and not enough Lower City rep at the time.

The Vial: I've heard mixed views on it, so that's why I wanted to come here and get opinions from the board. I don't know in practice how the "gathering" part of the Vial actually is for a Paladin, though the Mp5 is nice, particularly since mine is so low.

Yea, thanks Dil, but not at all helpful ... I realize it's not the best thing out there, but it's the best thing I've been able to acquire. I've said in other threads, I'll pick up healing upgrades that are just going to be sharded or vendored, not actively seek them out, because after all this is not my main spec. I'm not going to go spend money on something I will very very rarely use, thus I have the Ribbon because it dropped, no one needed for their main set, so I got it. Was a lot better then the spell damage green POS I had before it >.<
