This will be my first WoW character ever, and i'm going to roll a hunter. I'm not a dumb lazy sob to post on the forums for a quick answer, i've read up alot about everything so I know I wont get to 70 then realize this isn't the class for me.
What I want to know is am I going to give up a lot (boost dps blood fury and stun resist) to have the blood elf looks I want?
Only reason I want to be a blood elf is the looks, but will blood fury give a significant dps boost in end game raids? I read that the 2 positions hunters have in end game raids is BM hunter and Survival hunter, I want to be a survival hunter so the 5% pet dmg shouldn't be that important, but the stun resist is surely important for pvp.
Anyways give me your opinion please I really appreciate it, I don't want to make a mistake since this is my first character.

It doesnt matter unless you get into the top ~5% of the serious raiding guilds.
Maybe even the top 1-2%.
Basically those guilds that compete for world first kills.
The second reason why it might matter is when you are a dps ***** :P

So um do you think there are even any of those raiding guilds in pvp realms? If so, will I even have time to pvp if somehow I make it into those guilds that are hardcore?
Oh and also, you forgot to comment on the stun resist :)

1: i dont know much about PvP
2: those top guilds are nearly impossible to get into, so no need to worry about that ;)

Most top raiding guilds are on PvP realms, such as EJ, on Mal'Ganis.

I don't really know many people that play WoW just cause my friends aren't really gamers lol. So um I was searching through realms to see which one I should settle in, and I figured Boulderfist because it has a high population of 25k and horde and alliance are almost 50 50. Can anyone refer me to a site or somewhere that tells you about major raiding guilds like that one you said in Mal'Ganis, so I can see if theres any in Boulderfist, I'd really like to have one in my realm as a motivator.
At level 70 my Blood Fury gives me 282 AP. It has a two-minute cooldown so basically it's a free trinket that you don't need to equip. I use it pretty much whenever the cooldown is up, unless I am taking damage and will be healed soon.

Yes in a raid setting, orcs might edge out other races on horde, but I know that when I'm doing instances and pvp, the warstomp has saved my *** more times than I can count. The couple of seconds of warstomp (especially in instances) is frequently just enough for me to get another trap down.

Pick the race you want to look at for the rest of your hunter's career. If you need more reason than that, these skills could help you grind to 70 faster since you will need to drink less. They will also help in PvP against healers and other casters. The only issue might be that only the true caster classes can use these abilities, but I'm not certain that's true.
