I am a new 70 rogue with some pvp questions, i currently combat sword spec'd (i know not a pvp spec) with s1 swords and 2 s1 pieces. i have read the forums on rogue pvp but still having some trouble on making choices on spec.

question 1 having s1 swords what would be the overall recommended spec for pvp in which i plan to do arenas, bg's and world pvp?

question 2 i havent started playing arena matches at what point would it be reasonable to start? ie after grinding all s1 gear out of bg's.

question 3 the long term, i see alot of rogues using maces is this the prefered weapon? i like daggers but from what i have read on forums they are not the best choice for pvp.

If you could link spec's or sites for more reading on noob pvp it would be greatly apreciated thank you all in advance for any help you could provide me

1. Make sure all your weapons do not exceed 75 dps.
2. Lower top end damage = reduced threat, which is important in PvP.
3. Gem spell haste. Lots of spell haste.
4. Stock up on mana pots.
5. Most important rule in PvP - Ignore their healers...attack warriors first.

Hope this helps :)

Really, is it all that hard to look only a few posts down?

So true, so true.

And how is it that in the fantastically short time I was afk before posting my reply there were three others who got in? Either we spend too much time online at work, or the scent of fresh blood in the water attracted us like... ummm.... fresh blood in the water.

Just a thought to ponder. When I read posts from "new 70's looking for advice" and they have read the other posts, one common thing seems to emerge, none want to make their own decision and try new things. Seems that they want someone to do it for them.
Recommendation: 1. Gather knowledge (from other posts) 2. Compare said gathered knowledge with your game play style 3. Go for it!
Try different things to see what suits you and your end goals.
There is nothing wrong with asking for advice, but when you say you have read the other posts, well there is your advice.

Start arena matches RIGHT NOW. I waited with my rogue until I had all the BG stuff and that was an absolute waste of time.

With my newly 70 warlock, I'm doing arena, every week. I've got crap stats and loose most of the time, but who cares? Every point I earn is good to take.

So don't wait, start saving up arena points right now (don't spend them though, wait for S4).
