Lvl 70 Rep blues for a tank?Follow

Which of the new Lvl 70 blue rep gear is worth getting for a tank?

None of the 3 sets have much in the way of stamina or agility, most have a boost for armor. As a tank do I need +healing or spell damage? Do I need str and Int.

Looks to me like there is no Tanking gear in any of the 3 set.

Am I right or wrong?

Those are PvP outfits, and while there is in fact a feral set, I wouldn't call it tanking gear.

Buy the set (or just take whatever you got now) and start grinding up enough honor and tokens for the S1 helmet and shoulders.

Buy (or make) the Heavy Clefthoof set (chest, boots, pants)

Obtain essential quest rewards (Manimal's Cinch, Umberhowl's Collar, Verdant Gloves)

Start checking the AH for Braxxis' Staff of Slumber

You'll be up and running as a tank in no time.

(and try the sticky at the top of this forum)

Thanks for the reply, I dinged 70 today and already have

20K armor
27.5% dodge
15K health
crit immune

I just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something with these new blues, I'll check out the S1 shoulders but my hat is the epic engineering 1 so will keep that for now.

Yeah that's pretty decent, and certainly enough to tank your way through endless Steamvault runs on your way to Earthwarden, which should be your next goal.

Try to increase your dodge some more by stacking agility where you can, be that enchants or gems. Just don't sacrifice your stamina, armor, or crit immunity over it.

Those are pretty high stats for a brand new level 70. I've been working on getting my level 70 bear tank up to snuff for a month or two now (fully gemmed, enchanted, PvP head/shoulders/gloves, heavy clefthoof, and everything) and even then I'm short on a few of your mentioned stats.

Mind sharing your armory link?

I used the Shoulders just for the armor(I have the Dreamer shoulders or whatever, but don't I think they are that good), because I haven't been able to get any decent ones yet.....still working on the S1 shoulders for now I guess.

I had a few things going for me when I dinged 70, I already had the epic helm from engineering and the huge stamina boost from the Poultryizer. I picked up the badge of tenacity for 300g (a steal on my server) as well.

Thanks for the link. Yes, the badge of tenacity's armor is very nice for a druid tank. I just saw how much one was selling on my server - 1400g. Yuck.
