I know it is needed badly in raids but what about pvp. My hit rating is 101 right now and I do have surefooted, but is it worth putting the hit and agi gems in there to up it?
5% + hit is enough, a.k.a 101+surefooted is waaaaaaay over hitcap.

101 with surefooted is even a tad bit high if you're raiding. You only need 95 hit with SF to never mis a raid boss.
I dont raid with that, just my PVP spec - when i raid even without surefooted (gear alone) my hit rating is 150 which i know is over but its based on the gear i got no sockets

They can still dodge, block, parry, whatever but that isn't concidered a miss.
You will always miss an evading target no matter what your hit :P
