Good idea or bad idea?Follow

#1 Apr 15 2008 at 4:16 PM Rating: Decent
My plan at this point (at 70) is to focus on getting honor gear via BG's and replace it with arena gear ASAP and do heroics (in my pvp gear/not so good gear that is yet to be replaced) spec'ed frost. and i am planning to do this til my spellfire/spellstrike stuff is done so I can start raiding spec'ed fire.

any thoughts?

I do heroics with the 17/0/44 spec all the time in my pvp gear all the time. Farming all the primal fires is also much easier as frost. I think its a pretty good idea.

I do swap in some raid gear for the harder heroics though, SH and MagT for example. Just to get back to 920+dmg and 130+ spell hit.

The thing with dungeon running for gear and heroics at 70 is that pug groups rarely work, and it's just too damn hard to find one these days. If you have a guild, great, but why not just raid with them and get them to gear you up?

BGs take abit too long, I'd suggest that you do BGs while running arenas (your point doesnt have to be high, anywhere around 1600 would be fine until you can get better gear) and raiding simutaneously. If there's an armor piece or weapon that's not gonna be able to be replaced by raiding/bg/arenas anytime soon, then running a specific dungeon for it is logical. Otherwise, just do abit of everything. And grinding for gold for an epic mount isnt a bad thing to start off as soon as you reach 70 is a great idea.

A little bit of everything is the way to go if you have the time, indeed.

Weapon from arenas(you won't replace the dagger any time soon). Neck, bracers, and boots/belt are good starts from arena gear.

I disagree on PuGs. There are a lot of them running on my server, especially for Magister's Terrace and whatever the daily heroic is. The new badge gear is desireable for all but the most hardcore raiders.

There are 4 or 5 pieces out of MgT and Heroic MgT that are hard to upgrade beyond until T5 raids or ZA, btw. Dagger(unless you get PvP weapon), robe, shoulders, and gloves are all great, the trinket isn't too awful(pass on it to Shadowpriests and Affliction locks, though).

Yep, you can definitely take advantage with the new patch and run some dungeons, 1 is to increase your rep with the new sunwell faction, really helps if you plan on going endgame raiding. And secondly, the rewards given from the tokens are quite good.

It's just that I had a horrible time getting groups because of the fact that I transfered from a newly created server on my first 70 to a sort of hardcore server where everyone was already raiding. But if you have a good raiding guild, or even a mediocre one doing low tier raids, the time that you could spend running a dungeon to specifically farm for an item could really be put into some good PVP time.
