Cherry popped in the most romantic way everFollow

Okay, the topic is misleading, because I'm not about to divulge any details about my personal life. However, a couple of minutes ago I took my Druid into Blood Furnace on his first ever Heroic run.

Note: I respec'd Feral to do the SSO dailies, so this is not a tale about my überly crap geared Restokin.

Anyway, I was roaming about on Quel'Danas, getting my *** handed to me by gank squads (it's a fad on my server) and daydreaming about epics and whatnot, when suddenly a Mage whispers me if I want to go to Heroic Blood Furnace. At first I was like "Uhm, no thanks. I don't think I'm ready to tank anything heroic yet," but then I remembered that I'd done the instance earlier on normal mode and all the bosses seemed to be straight-forward tank & spank encounters, plus I had some experience with the instance as I'd healed it earlier.

So I accepted the invite and soon found myself in Blood Furnace with:

Fire Mage
Destruction Warlock
Shadow Priest
Restoration Shaman

All decked in epics.

I'm telling you, the damage they dished out, along with the excellent healing from the Shaman, it was my dream of an initiation run. I accidentally pulled adds a couple of times and thought we'd wipe for sure, but through the use of AoE fear, banish, polymorph and me using Feral Charge, Bash and Growl like it would save my life, we never wiped. Not once.

Usually I'm "pugging" normal instances and you meet a lot of fresh level 70's there. People aren't really sure how to perform in a group and are used to soloing quests, etc., so they make mistakes, like I did. It felt nice being in a group where everyone seemed to be 100% aware of their capabilities, limits and roles. It felt.. organized.

Long story short (orly?), I'm now the proud owner of an additional three Badge of Justice which will add nicely to the small pool I've already accumulated through SSO drops, plus the Wastewalker Tunic.

This was definitely the best imaginable way to have my "heroic cherry" popped and has given me a lot of selfworth, because I realized I was capable of tanking pretty well, even in a group where the DPS pulled aggro over 20x Lacerate, Faerie Fire and Demoralizing Roar.

Best PuG run I've done in months. Hell, years.

Edit: links and typos corrected.

Woot!

This is the reason I still play this game and why I still enjoy pugging; When you come across a great group of folks and everything clicks, it's worth the crap groups I get every once in a while and the mediocre groups I get most the time. If I'm lucky, on a Saturday or Sunday morning (before all the "kids" crawl outta bed), I'll get a good group and we'll stick together for 2-3 heroics in a row. Early bird gets the worm heh...

Grats on becoming a heroic tank,

That sounds like a perfect run. =]. I'm jealous!
My first heroic was ramps and I had an enhance shaman that wouldn't stop pestering the resto shaman, and wanted to trade spots and heal.
Plus he'd often pull mobs and insist on wanting to solo them, because he had omg epics, which ended up in wipes.

I love it when a plan comes together. Grats Mazra =D

P.S. what happened to the cute walking snowman/teddy bear animation you had in your signature? Not that I mind the hot babe pic you have now by any means...

I noticed a decline in the amount of random pickup lines in replies to my posts and coupled with almost zero "wunna haev sekx?" private messages this week, I've decided to put her back up.

I'm going to alternate between her and teddy whenever the mood strikes me.

Gratz on the Heroic. I look forward to my first.

Having just hit OL this last week on my Drood I've been running Ramps to get my Rep up to honored before hitting all the quests. I've tanked it 5 times, dps'd it twice and even respec'd and ran it once as resto just for sh*ts and giggles. Then I went and DPS'd Blood Furnace. All in the space of 3 days.

The best part was last night when I tanked Ramps 3 times in a row with a great group of 60-61's with a 70 priest healing. All 3 runs were under an hour! Anyway Gratz again.

P.S. The amusement value of the teddy bear almost (ALMOST) outweighed the hot chick photo. But nice to see it back :-)

I actually had to add her to adblock, struggled to read any posts that included your input.

Gratz Mazra - sounds like fun.

Unfortunately my tanking cherry was popped in the complete opposite way - which is why I am back to resto for now :P

Was tanking H. Ramps - had an epic lock, epic mage, and an epic hunter (hunter was in 4/5 T5). All I can remember is a nightmare number of wipes where we had 3 people dpsing 3 targets while I tanked another. I clearly stated the kill order and the marks right at the start and still had everything blamed on me. That was the last time I tanked (in a PuG - have tanked Kara/Gruul's/SSC trash before for guild)
At least healing I know I can't be blamed unless the tank dies before me and that is unlikely to happen, unless I fall asleep, with my current gear. Plus as a healer, I have the luxury of being in guild groups 99% of the time.

Grats Maz!

I want that cherry goodness popness as well! T.T

But it is pretty hard to find such a good Pug on my server, but it does happen from time to time.

With summer here and school out, which means "OMG I gotz 2 monthz to get mah phat lewtz to be Leetz"....../sigh I'm going to stick with guildys for the most part ^_-

Grats man!

Some other safe ones to work up your confidence would include H Mech, H Slave Pens and H Underbog. These are all pretty doable with a mediocre pug.

I'd steer clear of H SL, SH and Magisters for a little while though.

H Magisters in particular can have really excellent or extremely poor pugs.
