Any Point in Resist Gear?Follow

#1 Apr 14 2008 at 7:02 AM Rating: Decent
Some of my guildmates were talking the other day about whether or not the resist gear off the old badge vendor were worth using. They had the opinion that Blizzard put those items in for a reason. I, however, think that at best the resist gear should be used to fill in slots that you just can't get the drops you're after and you have a ton of extra badges. Isn't a rogue's job in any fight maximize dps first, worry about survival second? Or should I be making a resist set for TK and what-not?

Off the top of my head, theres one BT fight where resist gear is essential for raid survival. MAy be more in TK and SSC, don't remember.

In my limited raid experience (all of T4 and most of T5), there's no reason to bring resist gear to anything unless you plan on tanking, a la Hydross. I can't say anything for Hyjal/BT, but I'm sure you can easily find out by searching for the bosses and looking at their ability list.

It's definitely not a _necessity_, but having your Kara trinket for Solarian helps on healing, especially your first few times through the encounter.

It's pretty much an EZ mode fight anyways though.

And the Shadow resist set is for Mother Shahraz fight in Black Temple.
