The new badge lootFollow

#1 Apr 14 2008 at 6:44 AM Rating: Decent
I was actually on my way to the new badge loot vendor which has opened yesterday, with my precious 175 badges, thinking about the new fist weapons. Currently I have Talon of Azshara and Akil'zon Talonblade and semi combat swords build.
I was pretty sure the fists would be an upgrade, but before buying I actually plonked them into the spreadsheet to make sure. To my dismay I got only 10dps increase (interesting enough +15dps for unbuffed).
So in the end I walked away with the belt and pants, which together promised over +40dps.
So, the deal is done, but I was curious what other people bought.

Anvil is about 80% done on my server, but I don't have the badges to get anything. Other rogues in my guilds are looking at the chest, legs and belt, and I think that one is considering the fists, but only because he uses S1 maces right now.

The Belt of the Silent Path is about as good as it gets for the slot. Got one myself.

After a lucky drop, I respec'd fist/sword and plan on going with new MH fist soon as I can gather up a few more badges. Far as I can tell the numbers work out very nicely with this combination.

The pants and chest are both very nice looking but I haven't quantified the difference to my t4 stuff yet. Either way, Blizz really opened up some great PvE stuff for rogues with this patch.

It said the same for me on version 2.4.0.6. When I upgraded my version to 2.4.0.7 it showed about a 3% dps upgrade.

Keep in mind you need to switch the talent points off swords and onto fists.

I bought the fists. Huge upgrade from S2 MH / S1 OH maces.

Now saving for.... the legs, probably. Belt is very nice, but not a big upgrade from my Belt of Deep Shadow.

Stats-wise T5 is worse than the new "badge loot". Between the T4 2-piece bonus and the new badge items, maybe I will just ignore T5.

I'm thinking either the daggers (mutilate build) or the chest and the offhand dagger.

Is there some online tool that takes my armory data and gives me a recap of all my stats? And then I can change choice items (or talents) and see the effect?

It's actually an Excel spreadsheet, and every rogue should use it.

Saving up for the MH Fist, then gonna see what else I need at the time, gonna try and get the MgT OH sword so I can save badges for other stuff.

Not perfect by any mean (for one thing, it doesn't have Expertise at the proper cap), but it's interesting nonetheless. And heck, I can use it from work, unlike the spreadsheet.

Considering that I don't run many heroics nor karazhan, I don't have many badges, so I'm kinda glad to learn that...

S3 swords are better then the new fists.

Bo100D is better then the new badge belt.

The Badge pants and tunics are roughly 6 dps better then the T5 pants... but I don't think I want to break my 4/5 bonus for 12dps. More importantly, I don't want to spend that many badges for 12dps :P, since I'm looking at replacing all of those with T6 down the road anyway.

That being said, the 60 badge ring is a solid 9dps upgrade over my ring of a thousand marks, so that's probably worth it.

I think that wouldn't be smart.

Going full fists with badge fist MH + S1 fist OH would probably do more DPS as badge fist MH + MgT sword OH (just check spreadsheat to be sure).

Getting the OH fist (after getting MH) would be the best DPS-upgrade you can get for 45 badges.

Overall that might be true, but I'm gonna wait and see what gear I have access to after I get my MH Fist. I'm trying to find a raiding guild but if I'm not getting any other gear I'd rather upgrade those slots and still be able to have a pretty good OH in terms of the MgT OH.
