I don't know about any of you but when I heard the word shaman and looked at the symbol they use to represent the class I was thinking that at least we would have something to do with voodoo. Can anyone see any semblance with voodoo or anything.

Isnt todays shaman suppose to be a MIXTURE between the orc shaman and the troll witch doctor. Lets examine this.

Lightning bolt...: nope that is native american style: aka orc and tauren

totems: orc

ancestral spirit: orc

Somebody messed up. I think that we need to have more 'voodoo' like spells such as rituals which create some sort of mixture that can be instantly used but is better than just regualr alchemy.

Also one of the biggest things in voodoo is anybody voodoo dolls shouldn't we get something like that or some spell. cause when I signed up I was sure that half the class was made up like the louisiana fortune teller who tells you your fortune by squezing the goat's balls and sniffing cocaine.

Oh my god, how awesome would that be!

Make it like a priests Mind Control except they get stunned for 5-10secs and you can use Voodoo spells against them... yummmy

I think you are confusing yourself by the symbol.. trolls.. and..something else.

Lore wise, Shamans are more or less, are about the communicaion with nature, the force surrounding all life, and being spiritual leaders. Never read anything of what we know of voodoo. So just based on that, I've never viewed them as "witch doctors" but can easily see that in a troll village, with their music playing, they way they talk in such, sure.

Hmm..voodoo dolls, huh?

I don't think it'd be like a priest's Mind Control, but more like a draining effect. Like if damage is dealt to you, half of it is filtered to the target of the voodoo doll. Kinda like the Soul Binding ability that the spectres near the Violet Tower in Netherstorm have.

Another thought, maybe it could be like the grounding totem except that it transfers the harmful spell to the target of the voodoo doll rather than just absorbing it like the totem.

Just food for thought.

I kinda agree with Magilicotti though in that shamans aren't really a "witch doctor" type of class. Maybe witch doctor would make a nice Hero class though. :)

I thought the trolls used wards, which are basically like totems.

i think i even read they used healing wave.

i read somewhere that trolls brought shaman the ability to heal, increasing that aspect of the group. Orcs seemed more into using the power of shaman to find ways to destroy there enemies. Taurens just seemed more in tune with nature, they had rez and protecting spells.

That dosent really answer my question with the voodoo stuff and do the totems act like they did in W3.... W3: stun a crapload of people continusly. WoW: slow target but dies in one hit...........

This is what I am getting at and I am talking more about the shadow hunter (which is closer the the witch doctor we konw) rather than the witch doctor in W3
