Tips for healing Illhoof?Follow

I've done all of the T4 bosses and a few in ZA, and the only boss that really gives me trouble in any of the raids I've done is Illhoof. However, I've usually been fine since the two other healers in the group were tremendously overgeared. Of course, that means that now that my guild is having overgeared people sit out so undergeared people can go in and roll on stuff, instead of just DE'ing stuff, I need to get my act together.

My main issue is switching to the chains when someone is getting sacrificed. Regrowth isn't the quickest button I push, since I have lifebloom and rejuvination a lot more accessible. Is there a way to know ahead of time who he will target, or any suggestions you can give me to target heals on the chained person? (i.e. a macro or anything).

I tried that last run, but the chains didn't seem to have a target. I ended up healing myself a lot.

I tried this for loot-Reaver the other night, it should work for Illhoof too. Get a UnitFrames add-on that lets you have a focusframe, set Illhoof to your focus-target, and enable show target of target and enemy cast bar. That way, you can see when he's casting Demonic Chains, who he's casting it on, and (I know this works with xPerl) you can click on the target-of-target frame while Illhoof is casting it. It's a little clunky, but it works.

Are u not on a Teamspeak- or Ventrilo-Server with your raidmates??
if the people in the chain say: "XXX demonic chains"
the healers can start working on them.

Doesn't BigWigs even announce who is affected? We didn't do him last night, and since it was my first raid since October (OUCH!) I don't remember.

BigWigs does put a Big Skull on you in the raid-frames!

Admittedly, it's Kara, so there's only 10 names to look through for the person affected by Chains. Trying to actually click on their character isn't a good idea, though, considering there will be 2 or 3 melee DPS running over to kill the chains, plus maybe the off-tank. Not to mention all the imps in the way if ther person in the chains is a gnome.

Another random plug for xPerl, you can set up the raid frame to highlight anyone that's in range and taking damage.

I have, unfortunately, no clue which addon do that. But our raid leader has raid warning going on with boss events. I know it's not typed (he cant type 2 words right in a row =))...

For my part, I'm using Deadly boss Mod that gives me the warning I need on the fights.. including the chained person!

BigWigs always give a huge warning with who is being sacrificed.
I also use Pitbull, so I can arrange the frames the way I like. So, whenever bigwigs warns me, I just click the person frame and press the rejuv and lb button (hate to click to heal, so I always bind buttons).
Pretty easy fight for a healer, imo.
