Talent build for solo PvE?Follow

What is a good talent build for a Hunter that's mainly for solo PvE?

I've read 41/0/20 is good, but I don't know which talents to pick. I really need some help, I'm kinda new to the game.

I still can't find what I'm looking for. I'd just like to know which talents other people are using that works for them when soloing...

Click on Talents. Then you can see:

Quote:
41/0/20 Solo PvE. Makes your pet a great tank and gives the hunter nice crowd control.

Right there, maybe you should read more thoroughly next time.

Pretty much the best "recognized" builds for soloing are as such;

and

Give or take a few talents to your personal desire.

Is there such a thing as a specific talent build for good solo PvE? I thought Hunters were just overall good at that. 0/0/0 builds could probably do better than most classes at solo PvE.

Beast Mastery, however, will turn solo PvE into EZmode. Equip a cup of coffee and a newspaper if you go down that path. Install a television next to your computer or run the game in window mode while playing some other, more interesting, game on the side.

Edit: The above builds look much like the cookie cutter builds. However, for pure solo PvE there are some alterations I'd like to recommend.

First of all, there's no need for Rapid Killing if you're into solo PvE. The talent is mainly taken for its reduction on the Rapid Fire cooldown. The added damage isn't enough to make it worth it (trust me, I'm grinding mobs right now for pet leveling).

Second, you don't need a full five points in Frenzy. Four is more than enough since your pet will be a crit monkey. Put the spare point into Animal Handler for added pet DPS.

Third, Ferocious Inspiration, while nice, is more suitable for either PvP or instances. Put the points in Catlike Reflexes to increase your pet's survivability.

Fourth and final thing, Efficiency is nice, but you won't be using all that many special shots if you're just going to solo PvE. Put some points into Improved Hunter's Mark to increase your pet's DPS.

Now, this isn't a MUST of any kind. I'm relatively unenlightened when it comes to Hunters, but from my point of view, basing it on soloing quests, you'll need to buff your pet as much as possible since you'll save arrows/bullets and be able to solo harder stuff.

Animal Handler and Catlike Reflexes, coupled with Thick Hide and Endurance Training will allow your pet to take a much harder beating before you need to worry.

This is the build I'd go with.

i was also wandering about talents and since this thread is so similar i wanna ask if its worth taking the points out of mortal shots and rapid killing for humanoid and monster slaying and a bit increased range with hawk eye. or would the 3% and extra 2 yards be less noticeable? it would be a 41/13/7.
