New 70 here, and I'm absolutely clueless about the gear requirements for most instances.

In my PvE stuff, I got 460 +dmg, 14% crit, almost no hit, 7k hp and 7.5k mana, completely unbuffed.

(1) Am I good for most normal instances? Probably not MrT though, yea?

(2) What heroics, if any, would I be looking at? I'v read somewhere that the Coilfang ones are easier, but I really haven't got any idea.

Thanks for any info guys.

Btw: Is it just lag that for me the GCD always finishes before UA casts?

You should be fine to run any normal instances right now.

I wouldn't recommend going into any heroics unless you can find a pimp, and I do mean PIMP, group to carry you through. You know, the kind of group that could have 4-manned it?

And yes, if they are going to try to do this SP and UB would be the best ones to try it in.

You are definitely going to want to start stacking spell hit, although I don't know what the different hit caps are for the warlock specs (202 for destruction I think, although you asked about UA which probably means you're affliction).

As far as the GCD and UA, they should theoretically occur simultaneously, although a little bit of lag could delay the start of the UA cast and therefore the GCD would finish first.

Remember, just because you have the key to a heroic does not mean you need to use it. Your spell damage and hit really need to be worked on. Afliction is the way to go. You will still use SBolt spam alot but affliction will be your bread and butter for a while.

What tradeskills do you have? Tailoring would be my advice as the fsw is great although quite expenisve to make. your hp and mana will come as your gear is upgraded but spell hit and dam are your focused stats. the rest will come up. as affliction, you will not need to be as concered with crit.

And plz for the love of god remember this. "JUST BECAUSE BLIZZ DECIDED TO GIVE YOU A HEROIC KEY DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU NEED TO IMEDIATLY USE IT." Heroics will come soon enough. Spend your time now in the reg instances getting gear and learning your role as a cc/dpser and the instances themselves.

edited my spelling cause...well....i wanted to.

http:\\be.imba.hu is a great site that can help you determine what you are erady for Heroic and raid wise. Also give good suggestions on enchants that will help you. To help find what you need to be ready for Heroics, Kaliban's site is an excellent tool.

Edit: fixed links

That be.imba site is TERRIBLE. It doesn't even look at your stats just the iLevel of your gear. You could gear a warrior out in full healing cloth epics and run it through be.imba and it would tell you you're ready for T5 content if you just enchant your gear a little differently.

Thanks alot of the replies guys. And Lathias, the Kaliban site is really useful, thanks for linking it.

And yes, I do have tailoring, but its not maxed out yet so FSW will have to wait. As will heroics.

Cheers!

Yeah, I have noticed some wierd ratings on be.imba recently, but it still gives you a good idea on what to look for on enchants and what you need to get Hit Capped.

Also remember the site is fairly new and is still being updated. So if you see problems like this, be sure and discuss it in the forums there.

There aren't an astounding amount of items for most class/spec combinations where an item of a lower item level would be better than one of a higher one. Unless you deliberately throw it off like the Warrior example it's generally an accurate, useful tool to help determine enchants, what gear needs replacing, what's wrong with your gems, how close you are to certain caps...

what is more difficult Heroics or Kara? It seems just from off comments here and there that Heriocs are harder to finish than Kara....I've never done either so I'm clueless.
