Thinking about making a shamanFollow

I was thinking about making a shaman on horde and had a few questions:

1. How are they in instances?
2. How are they in pvp?
3. Are tehy interesting to play?
4. How is their endgame?

1. Shaman are as good as anyone in 5-mans. They can do just about anything in the earlier levels. However, unless you're healing, you may have a hard time getting into heroics due to your lack of crowd control.

2. I don't really pvp, so I'll leave that up to people who do. (I hear it can be pretty frustrating though, especially as enhancemen.)

3. That really depends on what you find interesting. In PvE both resto and elemental specs basically chain-cast the same spell over and over (with a different spell every few spells if appropriate), relay totems, and go back to chain-casting. Enhancement is basically the same, but they have to wait for cooldowns in between using their abilities (about 3 of them), and get to see a lot of little whirlwinds that accompany their auto-attacks.

4. Resto Shaman make good raid healers and can usually find a spot. Enhancement shaman provide the ultimate melee buffs, but a raid usually only needs one or maybe two. Elemental Shaman do good dps, but their buffs are only marginally better than resto shaman (and maybe worse depending on mana regen needs); there is usually room for one or two in a 25-man (especially if there are no resto shammies).

1- "Good". We're wanted DPS'er or Healers...more so healers since the ratio to healer/dps classes in the game makes healers wanted more, but we "can' do both. Situation and gears applied. We're the posted child for PvE content. Unfortunetly, our complete lack of CC, makes us somewhat limited, and we can tend to loose party slots to other dps classes that obviously have it. But for the dps we do occationally get to do, we're very respectable at it.

2- Suck...that about sums it up really :P Better in group PvP like BG's or 5v5 arena. The closer it is to a 1v1 fight the worst we get. Our abilities can only be brought to there max IF we can go unnoticed in the cluster. Course, you can see the problem when it comes to things like arena.

3- Yes, course that thats a relative term.

4- Respectable for the nitch we can fill. Great DPS suport class, and respectable clean up healer in raids. A good shaman should have gearing and skill to be adjustable to anything that gets thrown at them.
