This thread will mainly be for the world PvP Hunters out there.

Do any of you see an enemy and go on the hunt? I don't mean just ride up and attack, but a true plan, tail, track and sneak attack hunt? I have started doing this lately and it is quite thrilling. I like to sit up on top a hill, cast Eagle Eye, find an enemy player and go on the hunt. Similar levels, no ganking here (unless warrented).

My NE hunter on a PvP server (Metesha on 'The Venture Co.') stalked a BELF warlock two levels above me outside Sunken Temple. Kitty got first strike too. Unfortunately I was not the winner. Damn that fear.

My favorite win occurred in Stranglethorn Vale. Three of us were collecting blue pearls from the Vile Reef. Apparently the Horde didn't appreciate Alliance so close to Grom'gol. Three of them at our level came out for a fight. They attacked first and picked on our paladin. They ignored me, which allowed me to throw a lot of arrows their way. Their hunter went down soon after our paladin. Their two now beat on our warrior, continuing to ignore me. About half way through our warrior's health bar, they finally noticed me and their paladin came to visit. I think it helped that I had been standing at extreme range from the other two in my party. I freeze trapped the BELF pally. Unfortunately our warrior didn't survive their rogue's attacks and I couldn't burn down the rogue quick enough. I killed the rogue just after our warrior went down. After that it was a simple kite. I stayed out range of the paladin's 'hammer of justice' and burned down his mana. They did not return for a rematch. ;)

Ok. I'll start on off:

I was out in Dustwallow Marsh farming leather when I read on the defense channel that a fellow Horde had been ganked by a couple of gnomes. So, I ride on over to see if I can find them. Sure enough, there they are on the road near Tabatha's hut. Well, they hadn't seen me yet so I rode ahead and set up my ambush. It took about an hour of setting up, moving, re-setting, moving until I found the perfect spot. I thought they might be working their way toward the hut so I set up behind a large tree near the house, set a trap behind me and cast EoB with Kittycaticus in prowl. I then watched.

On the little happy-go-lucky ganking gnomes came, one a mage the other a mighty, tiny warrior. They were battling crocs and, laughingly enough, having a tough time of it. After EotB expired, I sent kittycaticus into prowl again and had him attack the mage by suprise while he ate his lucky charms. As soon as the cat hit, I stepped out, hit BW and let the big red kitty chow down. I saw a failed frost nova get cast, a swing of a staff and then... death. The mage went down fast and the mighty, tiny warrior ran for his life. Not fast enough. I fired a concussion shot to slow him down so Kittycaticus could chomp on him too. He soon became cat food and fell, fittingly, in the garden next to Tabatha's hut!

Thus ended a grand hunt. It would have been easy to just ride in and gank them, however, where is the thrill of the hunt in that? I normally don't hunt lowbies, but since these two started the grief, I felt it necessary to make em pay.

next story?

Happy Hunting!!!

My brother and I, he's a level 27 Orc rogue, and I'm a level 24 Orc hunter, were messing around with Alliance people. I was standing on top of a hill, looking for "victims", and he would sneak up on them and do the killing, which was a lot of fun. We tried to pick mostly on people of our own level, so we were in the big canyon full of Gnoll thingies and at the road with Blackrock Orcs, since the rest of the area is mostly populated by level 15 to 20s. We had killed a whole load of people, all races and classes, untill a rogue, level 29, got the jump on my brother and killed him quickly. As the rogue was spit spamming on my brother, and dancing on his corpse, I came down off the hill, and sent my bear at the rogue, and fired a concussive shot. The rogue, anticipating an easy fight, started a sprint...and ran right into my frost trap. After this, I ran at the rogue and used a wing clip at him, immobilizing him (Improved Wing Clip for the win), I ran at max distance, fired an arcane shot, and my brother rescurrected and ambushed him for the final 5% of his health.

Did you miss the part about equal level? I'm not impressed you can gank lowbies in Redridge Mtns nor two on one.

The other day a prot warrior was stupid enough to attack me up at the Throne of Kil'Jaedan. He managed to kill me because I was already busy with a few mobs and at about 25% health. He lost to me about 6 times after that. He must have been an idiot, too, because I killed him several times in front of other horde, and no one came to help him. Hell, there were even other horde LAUGHING at him when I killed him.

Did you miss the part where I said I was level 24, and my brother was doing much of the actual "work", while I was picking out targets off a hill. Only when a level 29 rogue killed my brother, I jumped in and attacked him.

Yes, I did kill the occasional lowbie, but most people we attacked and killed were about the same level (20-29ish)
