hi,

both me and my bro has started a druid, and now I'm wondering how a feral / resto combo would be? any chance to hit 1850+ rating with that combo?

if your not even level 70 yet, no.

People have too much of an advantage over you already. By the time you hit 70, and grind out enough honor for all the non set epics, trinkets, rings, neck etc, and the full s1 gear, you will still be very under geared. Then you have to start hitting arena. takes about a month to get one peice of gear, so thats 4 months to get everything except the weapon and shoulders. By that time s4 will be out, and most arena players will have the full 5k arena points saved for when it drops.

Not to discourage you, you can try, but its not likely that on a new char you will be able to be succesful in the arena, it has just been goin on too long, and there is really no way to catch up.

okay, lets just say that I'm lvl 70 and was feral specced, would it then be possible for me to get 1850+ rating with a resto druid?

As much as arena is about class makeup, it is also about player skill. So i have no way to answer you. Any combo can get an 1850 rating, if they know what they are doing.

A month just to get a piece of gear? Woah, you must be slow. Doesn't take anywhere near a month just for 1 piece.

Well, this combo would require alot of communication and may be tricky, but it's been done before. Take this team for example. They are a Feral Druid/Resto Druid team which are at 2151.
It's really up to you guys though. There are easier combos to run as a resto druid though; Druid/Warrior (One of the best) and Druid/Hunter(There are many more).

I'm not sure which of you guys are feral though, but if you're the feral druid, you best re-spec resto at level 70. It's much easier to get into teams and get a better rating as resto.

Yes.

well unless your getting 500+ arena points a week, it does. I was basing this off a 1500 pt team, so averaging about 300 and some points per week.

Well, the new vendor sets from 2.4 go a LONG way in letting you catch up. The stats aren't that great, but you have access to the gladiator piece bonus and a lot of resilience to get a good start in gearing your new 70. It's now TOTALLY reasonable to get the vindicatior set, rings/neck/trinkets with your honor while replacing your vendor stuff with arena points... you can even use ferral vendor gear to farm the BGs to buy resto gear!

Also, I'm willing to bet that Bliz will drop the S2 stuff into BG rewards when the S4 stuff comes out. It's just a matter of using the vendor stuff while saving up enough honor, marks and arena points to buy as much S2 and S4 that you can get your hands on when the new season drops. Not too bad... This is what I'm gonna do with my druid.
