but i was talking with my friend about what i shood do when i get to 70 and do pvp for gear and he thinks i shood respec from enhancement to elemental. Now i never really played a caster class so if anything i'd respec at 60 and grind in outland to understand the spec better but i just love enhancement and if i were to respec to enhancement i know that at one point or another i'd respec back but i want to know if in pvp are enhancement shamans still ok if lets say they are by their selves in pvp or with another class or would elemental prove to do more damage if at the time no other person would be near me to help since obviously shamans do better in groups since they are really ment to enhance the performance of other classes
Have a few posts over past couple days on the same. I'm currently at 66 enhance, here's what I'm experiencing in outlands-
Enhance is working brilliantly in PvE, and so far I've been able to solo every quest with minimal rezzes. Just remember to keep stocked up on food/water (esp water) and bandages. Ensure your windfury is up at all times and spam the Water shield buff if you need to. Overall, I can oft leave the computer while fighting a PvE mob a level or two higher knowing its a no lose situation.
Saying that, enhance is pretty soddy in PvP, and once you get to OL you become the new meat. You will get ganked and ganked often. If you stay enhance, you need to start using your totems in conjunction with spells (I never bothered too much with totems till outlands). Here's the combo's I use if its any help (sometimes it works amazingly, mostly it just keeps me alive a few seconds longer):
Against non-mana users - Frostshock target (or pet) to slow movement, Purge the target to remove buffs, and as running in fire off a Flameshock spell, Stormstrike immediately.
Against mana users - drop a Tremor totem to help nullify fear effects, watch for the next cast and Earthshock the user out of it, drop a Distraction totem to pull the enemies next spell off of you, and as running up to enemy fire off a Purge, then Stormstrike, spam Earthshock as required.
But, irregardless, as said, you will be getting ganked, and often.
Saying all that, I've spoken to some guildies and mates who have respecc'd from enhance. Here's what they had to say:
The elemental is very powerful and can put out massive burst damage if geared proper, but the build is mana intensive and in a PvP group you become a primary threat to the enemy, so they will focus on you (a chain lightning fired into the midst of a battle can have massive impact in the fight). A few I've spoken to have mentioned topping the damage stats during PvP. But, many have respecc'd over to Resto after playing about with this build for a bit.
Everyone I've spoken to seems to be happy with the Resto build. In both PvE and PvP (group or 1 on 1) the Earth Shield makes you practically invunerable. In 1on1 PvP your survivability factor skyrockets, though the fight does drag out a bit as you're damage dealing capacity has dropped considerably, but with a decent 2 hander (or 1 hander and shield) you can still crank out some good damage. In group PvP a chain heal spell fired off by a resto combined with his/her totems has the ability of easily turning a fight around, and restos are often in the top healing stats of a party while maintaing a fairly good damage output.
Thats pretty much the experiences I've been having and the opinions I've gathered over the past few days, still thinkin on it myself. Hope it may have helped out a bit.
