I have made some upgrades to my armor and I am working on my Spellfire Robe ATM. With my current gear can I start Kara and/or any heroics? If so, which heroics?

Thanks for the advice all.

A good place to get a general overview of your current gear levels is Imba.

Heroics definitely come before Kara - try those out first and then think about raiding ....

I don't know about any that are "good for mages", but UB, SP, Mech, and Ramp are all pretty easy on the heroic level. I would think any instance that needs cc is going to be very mage friendly. I would try to get into any heroic groups you can and see how they go. Most heroics fail b/c of under-geared tanks or healers in my experience, very few times has it been b/c of sub par dps.

There is also a nice wand off the last boss in UB too if you try that one out.

If you don't have a focus macro, now would be the time to make one for polymorph, it will make your life much easier in heroics/raids.

Also, although this isn't great advice, if you are having trouble finding out what instances to do to maximize your time in order to get the best gear and you dont wanna keep tabbing out to Ala try getting Atlas Loot and just scan through heroic instances and such and find tasty looking pieces of gear that you might want.

It's actually great advice. I do that all the time, to be honest. Any time I'm not needing to pay attention to the game itself(flights especially), I have atlasloot open.

Another option is WoW-Loot.

Thanks. I got the Atlas loot. I actually have got a great sheep macro and the sheep timer add-on. They work great together. I've even written a few macros. My favorite is the one that will automatically pop my DPS trinket, cast AP, cast PoM, then comes the pyroblast. I've crit with this one click on an average geared 70 warrior for 4800. Love it.

Thanks for all the advice. I really appreciate it. Much love, much respect.

For someone who tries to read up a little but isn't immersed into the game of WOW because of real life, this was a great thread. Thanks to that IMBA site and a lot of luck with a spellstrike pants pattern drop in an instance this weekend, I was able to upgrade three pieces of armor and am working on getting my character geared up.

Thanks for the replies.
