Quite simple...what kind of pet do you have, what is it's name, why did you choose this pet?

My lowly little Orc huntress that I refuse to level past 24 (kiting warriors, rogues and paladins around Redridge Mountains is too much fun) went to Dun Morogh to tame that white bear, I named it Snowfur. I wanted to go on a big adventure at level 12, and so, I decided that going to the land of the Dwarves to tame a polar bear would be a worthy quest for a little inexperienced Orc. I also just dislike cats and boars as pets, because about 90% of the hunter population seems to have one of those.

I also have a red haired Dwarf hunter who has a red crab as pet, just because it's fun to have my crab chase down mighty Taurens, and he is the same color as my Dwarf's hair. My crab's name is Pinchy.

I think we've had a few of these posts before. . .

I have three pets. When WotLK comes out, I'll have to ditch one to learn new skills. I won't know which goes until I see what new pets I want. At the moment, I think I'll ditch my bird since I there isn't a particular skin I gotta have. It won't be too painful to level another up to 80 once I'm done learning new skills.

Carrion Bird: I picked up a blue one from the Bone Wastes in Terrokar Forest. Screech plus the armor bonus rules for soloing multiples, like when going back to lower level instances to farm stuff. He's unimaginatively named 'BlueBird' (of hunter happiness). ;)

Ghost Saber: Yeah, everybody has this skin. I still like it. This pet goes on instance runs with me the most. Another unimaginative name, 'Ghost'.

Blue Armored Boar: I like the blue-black armored boar skin out of Razorfen Kraul. This guy is for soloing 69-70 elites and when I'm tired of flapping bird wings in my face. This one's named 'JimmyDean'. Y'all might remember Jimmy Dean's pure pork sausage adverts from 10+ years ago. Now that I've seen a few of the blue armored boar skins I'm changing my mind. I now want the plain black boar but am not willing to level up another lowbie pet. Besides, now that they've nerfed a boar's charge, I'm unsure if I'll be keeping him once WotLK comes out.

Yeah, but not for ages.

I got my cat and leveled with him all the way to 70. Cats are awesome, and I like the fact that I've had him for so long.

I got the ghost wolf when it was available, and although he's still not 70 (50 something I think) I'm never getting rid of him.

My third pet has changed a lot, including ravagers, dragonhawks, warp stalkers, etc. Right now it's a windserpent, because my crit is finally high enough to make it viable as a raid pet, and then I can respec my cat as a pvp pet.

Fenrir = Black wolf (formerly elite) from Jintha Alor in the Hinterlands. My group pet.

Crabs would be the ultimate low profile pet if they just has a special attack. Their biggest claim to fame is not blocking the view. No dash /dive / charge is bad however. I'd grab a crab too if it just had something extra . . .

I have King B and an alpha wolf. King B I got as soon as I was able to train him.. . I've been thinking of switching to a ravager though, but it's kind of hard to let go of Hobbes.

Got one raptor from BEM, named Haruchi.
A cat, named Peritas and a bear named Furyclaw.

Haruchi is by far my most used pet, use him for pretty much everything even for soloing, although that's mostly because I havent found the time to level my bear up.

I'm sort of going bird-master on my current hunter. I'm levelling with a dragonhawk (bad idea due to caster stats, but I want the challenge and flame breath is REALLY COOL) named Charmander...go ahead and flame me for the name and yes pun intended.

For my DPS bird I'll probably get a Wind Serpent, and eventually I'll probably get a bat as well (just to complete the bird set) although if another exotic flyer comes out I'll go for that first.

I'm loving the burst TPS a dragonhawk can pump out, though.

When I am survival I use a 68 Black Worg named Nightmare. He has so much more threat generation just by being lower in level it is insane! Plus all he has is dash and bite, so he always has plenty of focus.

When I raid, group, or am BM, I used my Black tiger with white stripes, named Beezlebub.

Also have the pink and purple owl named Bandit. I rarely use him unless I want to annoy people with screech, or am just farming Nagrand for leather.

On my new lowbie huntress I have a cat named Hobbes. I plan on keeping it until 59 or 60 when I'll get a Frostsaber Pride Watcher to match the Frostsaber mount I plan on grinding the rep for (woot for 5x faster with the buff to their rep!).

I love my crab. Although I find myself using him less and less in Outland simply due to his lack of specials. But I've had him for years and have grown attached to him. Maybe he'll get some love one day from Blizz. Although I don't know about crabs having dash or charge...crabs moving that fast seems a little unnatural. Maybe something different which would still make him viable.

My day to day just doing my dailies or instances pet is a terrokar Wolf named Vengeance. My battleground pet is a Skettis Black Cat named Destruction trained with Prowl for guarding towers and graveyards, I also use him for arenas sometimes although my usual arena pet is a nethermine ravager named Carnage.

I have my instance-running all-white frostsaber stalker named Omega (FF reference) and my Eclipsion Dragonhawk named Pyro (I'm so clever it hurts) for farming.

The extra stable slot has been used to park my pets while doing my pet skill learning. Now that my pets are maxed out in skils, I'm just saving it for WOTLK.

My budding hunter uses 2 pets mainly, alternating between them so neither gets too far behind.

My corrupted mottled boar, Tuskaloosa that was my first ever pet.
Vivid, the tame version of Naraxis who I rather like but the lack of specials is a little sad.

I like them both and I think I'm going to be in trouble when I have to get rid of one Smiley: frown

As for crabs, I had a draenei hunter for a bit and I was so faked out by the pet quest! When you tame the crab during the quest he'll put thorns on you, and keep putting it on you if you remove it. Sweet! I thought. So when I finished the quest I ran over to tame one.

When they're tame, apparently they don't like you enough to buff you Smiley: disappointed

Have you ever tried to catch crabs in the ocean in real life, Paladense? They can dash quite nicely. They run quickly going sideways when on the rocks. In the water they fan the underside of their carapace, the portion over their gills, to augment their legs and get away promptly.

I alternate between my two cats. I had a pig but got rid of him for the cats. My real pet cat would get annoyed if I went with anything elese, especially a wolf or bird!

56 White Tiger - Kittycaticus (FKA King B)
52 Black Panther - Bhagthera (FKA...umm, Bhag'Thera)

My Duskwood Hunter has a Twilight Runner, lvl 29 named Spooker

All with prowl for that special "Eyes of the Beast" suprise attack on an unsuspecting Ally. (sorry fellow alliance hunters).

Funny story regarding this (off topic too): I cast EoB and snuck up on a Dwarf Warrior who had been fighting ogres in Feralas. He had just finished drinking when kittycaticus hit from Prowl. The "whoa" sounds the Dwarf makes when suprised and hit is hillarious and well worth the EoB hunt. A sneak attack in this fashion is not to be missed. Anyone else do this?

Happy Hunting!!!

Hulkababy - Lvl 56 Orc Hunter - Maelstrom
Thamage - Lvl 56 Undead Mage - Duskwood
Thaspooker - Lvl 29 Orc Hunter - Duskwood

I have two Ravagers.

The first was an epic journey to the Draenie starting area (I'm horde) for the elusive (and now untamable) Death Ravager. I waited in the water just out of view while a warrior unlocked the cage for his level 10 quest. Killed him and tamed the ravager. I named him Pedro.

The second ravager was one from Hellfire. I hadnt named it because I couldnt think of a good name for it. A couple days ago my wife saw me playing and fell in love with it (Go figure, she hate bugs). she named it Arichan (Ant in Japanese). This one pet has prompted her to play now, and wants to be a hunter so she can get her own Ravager.

I have the Ripfang Ravager from BEM- right by Toshley's station. I chose it mostly because it came with Dash 3 and Gore 9, but it doesn't hurt that it changes colors, and two of the skins are now unique. It has the pink/purple skin that the Death Ravager had, one is the "native" blue/yellow skin, and the third is the skin that the Nethermine ravagers have. I love it when I'm in vent during a raid and out of nowhere I hear "Ayrianna... Am I just imagining things... or does your pet keep changing colors?"

I named her Molly. It gives her +20 to cuteness.

I currently have a Scorpid on my 68 Hunter. I grabed him during the whole Scorpid craze just because I wanted to see for myself. Well, as much as I could see for myself when I grabed him at 65.

After the nerf I was still 65 and the only other pets that interested me were higher level than myself so I kept him. His armor is great for melee mobs, and surprisingly holds threat well so I've kept him.
