Spellfire Waist or Belt of BlastingFollow

Is it worth it to break up the spellfire set to get the belt of blasting? I see it on our ah for 1700g. At first glance it seems to be worth it. 23 Spell Hit and more spell crit. With the +spell hit I could replace the spell hit gem i have on the spellfire belt with a +spelldmg/+spellhaste gem from the new sets at Shattered Offensive. What do you guys think?

I can't remember for sure, but I remember calculating it out and it being worth it, especially since that frees you up to replace the other pieces with equally awesome pieces.

Get blasting, it is one of the best belts in the game. I had a chance at Anetheron's noose last night and still stayed with it.

Don't buy it directly off the AH, you can probably get the materials for a good deal cheaper.

30 badges for nether vortices (or my server sells them for 150g a piece) = 300g
15 primal fires (20g on average = 300g)
Cloth = 30g
Rune Thread = 1g

I craft it for people and charge 40g.

Thanks, I got it last night for about 720g. It won't really be that much. I will farm the primal fires that I didn't have and sell them instead of making the spellcloth.

What would be the best glove and chest replacements if he's getting BoB? The new badge rewards?
#6 Apr 16 2008 at 1:54 PM Rating: Good
The badge rewards are complete sidegrades. They are good for adding a lot of hp/mana but you will lost damage. I replaced my gloves with T5 and my chest with robe of hateful echos, but I still carry the spellfire set with me incase I am in a situation where I won't be taking damage so I can boost my fire damage by about 50 or so. Was amazing last night having 1550 buffed fire damage :-)

Why wouldn't you have a shammy? D:
One shammy with fury warrior/ret pally/2 rogues.
One shammy with spriest/destro lock/2 mages
Remaining shammies in the healing groups.

Or do you not even have two shammies? O_O

We have one with the tanks (resto - sometimes) one with the melee (enh), one with healers or 2nd ranged dps (resto), and one with the main ranged dps (ele).

1550?? How the hell did u get this much +damage??
Your armory shows u with 1120 +damage WITH flask of pure death....
so u can reach over 400+damage just through buffs??
would like to know how...

Add in another 80 from his Darkmoon Card when fully stacked(which it should be for most of the fight). Another 101 from a shaman. 23 from food. Maybe 30 from Imp Divine Spirit. 42 from Superior Wizard oil(or 36 from Brilliant wizard oil). Assuming he's spot on about the 50 from Spellfire.

That's 326. Not quite there, but I'm also ignoring Flame Caps, Destruction potions, and his other trinket.

I am at 1169 in my current non-spellfire set gear. spellfire: 1234 with pure death and superior wizard. +23 food, +35 or 40 (can't remember) from spirit, + 80 DMC,

If you add my icon trinket + 155, + 101 from shaman, and hell I also have the serpent coil braid that I could have popped a mana gem + icon at the same time. Would put me over 16 or 1700 damage buffed, maybe a bit more.

I don't get him every time, just sometimes, but when I do... WATCH OUT!!!

oh, and lol at RoS, wait til you do the fight. You spellsteal his bubble in phase2 and my fireball casts were about 1.3 seconds (1.1 seconds with bloodlust) and scorches were .7 seconds, it was amazing. I was pulling aggro like crazy though and couldn't get a invisibility off because of the reflective damage bs. I may try doing AB spam because mana isn't much of an issue because the fight is so short.

that is without trinket(s) popped and without my DM:C fully upped, which would put me above 1500 without my Icon blown.

:-)

did 2500dps yesterday on Akama, 1700 on Gorefiend, and about 1200 on Naj'entus (finally up to #5 instead of around #10 on that stupid fight).

Man, I had a complete gear-makeover last week. I replaced my spellstrike with the hood of hexing and the badge pants, got belt of blasting and the badge crit robe to replace my spellfire pieces, and got the badge ring too.

Damage-wise the badge stuff is sidegrade, but the added stamina and int on the pieces really helps. I'm up on 10k mana raid buffed now, and an extra k unbuffed hp. Feels good not being the lowest hp guy in the raid anymore.

Am I delusional or do I not need anything from ssc/tk anymore?

Anyway, you guys need some more shamans, we usually have like 4-5 in the raid at least :P.
